Speaking as a doctor ...

Hey, wait a minute ... I'm NOT a doctor. And chances are no-one else here is, either.

Or if they are, they won't be giving medical advice on such an important issue on Yahoo Answers.

Please, go to the doctor right now for a test and some proper advice! If you don't want to go to your regular doctor, go to a clinic or a different doc.

But for your health's sake, see a doc today.

Best of luck!

You are panicing I know people that are trully infected and i am sure this was not within a five day turn around...do more research the body will show signs of viral infection any where from 3 months to 6 months later when the viral cells have begun to attack the healthy cells and convert the body. You need to calm down and get tested so that A. you do not stress yourself to a senseless end and B. so that you are sure and you do not continue to have unprotected sex and trully infect yourself or if you are infected you infect others. Just use common sense and good judgement. If you are positive you can live with HIV - you will be ok!!!! I promise you can find doctors access to free meds and with the right cocktail you could live life day to day and function without if affecting your every day pleasures...please though ;;;;GET TESTED!!!!!!!

I hope and pray that your not infected But Knowledge Is Power Some people report that when they are first infected with HIV they had Flu like symptoms and were fatigued. So my best advice is Please Get Tested. If you were infected 3 weeks ago you would now be in whats called the "widow period"meaning you have a high amount of the virus in your body but your body may not of produced enough Antibodies to show up in a test.(remember HIV test look for antibodies which most of the time take from between 30-90 days to show up in the test) So Please get tested as soon as you can,If the test is negative take another test about 1-2 months later by then your body should have produced enough anti-bodies (if you were infected) to show on your test.I hope this helps you,Feel free to let us know the results of your test Stay well, stay informed and GOD Bless you,Cholito

The HIV virus doesn't act that fast. The virus has something called "Incubation Period", that ranges from 21 days to 30 days. So my friend, don't get panicky. What you have got is some kind of virus such as common cold, flu, etc. and not HIV. In any case, you can get yourself tested for HIV after the 30 day period and repeat it again after 60 days from the date of 1st test, just to make sure. Take care of yourself. You know it better.

Early HIV symptoms include high fever, chills, thrush, etc. Since you recovered from most of your symptoms, the likely hood is that you caught a virus of some sort from this person, but not necessarily HIV. It could just be a viral infection that you will get over. HOWEVER I would see a Doctor as soon as possible to rule out anything. Best of luck to you.

Just go to the doctor and get it checked. Stress only makes any situation worse. Hiding your head under the pillow will never make it go away. Who knows. The stress of the not knowing can make you sick and you could be perfectly fine.
HIV doesn't work that fast. It can take years for the effects of HIV to show up.

You're losing it.

Go and get a test, then resolve to NEVER have semi-unprotected sex again.

Yes, you definitely have AIDS. Way to go!

May I ask what "semi-unprotected sex" is? Did you just use half of a condom?
