The pork will still be in the beans during the canning and cooking. If you are a true vegan you would not touch it.

You are still supporting the "pork" part of the sale when you buy pork and beans. So, yes.....it is wrong. Plus, who wants to eat the beans once they have been mixed with animal flesh?

Technically no - it's not okay because the juices & fat from the meat remain in the beans.

Bush's makes a great truly vegetarian style of baked beans. http://www.bushbeans.com/products/bakedbeans.php

Of course, if you're hungry and there is nothing else to eat ,you could do worse than to eat pork and beans, even with the salt pork left in, My suggestion though would be to buy beans without pork, like vegetarian Rosarita refrieds, cheaper, too

if you're strict, no...because the tiny piece of pork is cooked in the sauce and beans- ham or bacon is generally the base for the sauce itself. you need to get vegetarian baked beans. (they're really good, though! i'm not even a vegetarian and i love them!)

Well, no.
I think it's Heinz that makes vegetarian canned beans. You can find it at all major grocery stores. This can solve your problem!

i don't think so, but if you like pork and beans then by all means...... eat healthy because you want to not because of rules.

it depends on the reason that you are vegetarian. if you are vegetarian because of the industry, then it would probably not support the moral reasons for being so. however, if you chose to be vegetarian for health reasons, then there are worse things you could do. and being ok is entirely dependent on what you deem alright.
