Why is it that when I get a cold sore in my mouth a few days later one or two other cold sores will appear in the same immediate area of my mouth? Could it be that when I brush my teeth and brush my cold sore I'm spreading the virus around to my mouth?

Also, should there be any concern if two bouts of cold sores appear only weeks apart? which seems a little soon.

cold sores are a stress-induced outbreak virus. the more stressed you are, the more you have, and more frequently. also, if you break the cold sore blister you spread the stuff around and risk more blisters.

when you suspect you're beginning to have a cold sore, put abbreva on the spot, and keep it on. the thing will be gone within two to three days and if you can keep from being very stressed, you shouldn't get any more right away.

You could be run down. Cold sores usually appear when your body is running low on defenses, which could explain why you've had more than one bout in a few weeks.
Are you using an anti-viral cream when they appear? This can help reduce the virus load in your system. Otherwise you need to look at the other aspects where your health is not the best. Things like diet, how much sleep your getting, stress factors, alcohol or drug use, or have you been sick a lot lately, especially with a cold or flu?
Cold sores, especially a lot of them, usually indicate something else in your life needs tending to.
Zinc and Vitamin C can help boost the body's defense systems.

** Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex 1 or 2 virus, and it does stay in your system for life, but is only contagious when you have an outbreak - cold sores.

It has been reported that you are more like to have outbreaks when you are stressed. However when the outbreak are reoccurring in the same place, its not from brushing your teeth. You may want to consider taking Valtrex to help suppress how many break outs you have.

Good Luck
