Why don't we all abandon ALL masterfoods products as a protest for making Mars sweets unsuitable for vegetarians, and for lying on their website that they are led by their customers, Customers NEVER told them to make all their sweets unsuitable for vegetarians.
Here's the link to tell them in you own words:

EDIT Sunday 20th May. Great news the makers of Mars are returning to the original recipe without animal rennet, after a campaign of calls and emails organised by the Vegetarian Society see link below. It might still be worth emailing them, if only to find out when the sweets without rennet will be available.

I'm a veggie and i'm a bit unhappy about this...hear me out...
Last Friday, Masterfoods said they NEEDED to do this to ensure a steady supply of rennet.
They wrote to me on Tuesday re-itereating that they could not get a steady supply of vegetable rennet and NEED to open up thier suppliers to animal rennet.
So, whats changed ? Are they really so inept that they don't know how to run thier business and it takes a bunch of us veggies to shout at them to get them to do the decent thing ?
No, i still say shame on them for even thinking this was ok.
And remember they still said in thier press releases that veggies are "happy to eat animal rennet in cheese". They have shown no understanding of a vegetarian in this whole sorry saga.
remeber, this company was happy to ensure lots of animals were killed for its chocolate without really trying to find an alternative solution. Which as it happens seems to have been very easy for them to find once they started getting complaints. Do you really want to revert to supporting them ?
And also remember that they do not put "suitable for vegetarians" on thier packets so this STILL gives then free will to include animal rennet in the ingredients without telling anyone. and they can include all sorts of colouring and e. numbers without stating the source.
remeber,t his animal rennet story only came out because someone specificalyl asked then about the rennet. They would not have told anyone if the veggie society hadn't made a fuss. So, that implies that if no-one finds out in the future they will still not be open and upfront about it.
and remember veggies cannot eat mars bars until the stock produced between March 2007 and June 2007 has been used up.
I'd prefer to support companies that support veggies, not those that try to hide thier ingredients sources until found out.

Not sure about Mars as I never was fond of them to read the ingredients, but many of the other candy bars that are also adding rennet, already have hydrogenated oils in them. The hydrogenated oils are enough for me to not eat them, minus the adding of rennet!

They are going back to using the vegetarian alternative to animal rennet ASAP due to the thousands of complaints they've had.
One for consumer power I guess!

yup, my school has a petition that they got from someone , apparently if theres enough signs on it they might reconsider putting animal rennet in. The bars that are banned are mars, bounty, snickers, twix, milkyway, maltesers, minstrels . there are two websites you should go on for more info.

Please someone explain to me why "carnivores" are disgusted by this? Pretty ridiculous, don't you think? Eww rennet in my chocolate bar? gross! (as they chomp on a burger) what is that?? Besides that, rennet is in more than just chocolate bars.

A good friend of mine has been ranting about this. Calf stomach in chocolate or something?
Well I don't like it and I'm about as carnivorous as the average T-rex.

Wow....that's pretty sick. Poor little baby cows...I just steer away from anything i didn't make myself...There's always going to be something animal-linked in anything man-made.
