The shampoo bars would eliminate the issue with liquids and gels while traveling by air. It would be great for travelers that only want to take a carry-on. I would definitely give those products a try.

I'm MAKING products like those; would love to sell them at the Farmer's Market, but don't know where to get permission to set up a stand. I'm sure around here I'd need to talk to someone, some committee. Plus, it's always the same people when I go shopping there...so if it was "just walk up and set up" I'd see different people, I'm sure.
Shampoo bar...now there's one I'd like to experiment with. Right now, I have something similar. It's a massage oil bar. It's made with an infused oil and cocoa butter, so it melts just a little in the hand. I've also made soap in the past, plus various bath and beauty products. My shining glory right now is my dream pillows.
But what I really want is to open my own business and strive to bring back the natural home remedies that so many of us grew up with. It's only now, as adults, that we refuse to trust the same things coming from someone else. Personally, I hate doctors and hospitals. Trust their over-priced agenda-driven side effects? No thank you. So I don't use them. Not that I've really needed too, though I think once I should have, but it wasn't my decision, as I was a minor.
I'm all for natural, herbal home-made products, and use my own, though I haven't completely done away with commercial items. And so far, my products are made with better ingredients for less than half the price of similar, usually petro-chemical and preservative laced commercial products.

I already purchase shampoo bars with only a sheaf of recyclable paper for packaging. I was very impressed, I found it in a health food store and the price was only pennies more than a bottle shampoo, but lasts about the same.
As for the spa goft basket, I think that would be a wonderful gift. I can think of several people I might purchase one for, and I'd probably drop hints that I'd like to get one too. (hint hint)
And yes, I'm not comfortable buying mass-produced baby care products, like baby wash and things like that. I look for more natural alternatives for my children.

Definitely! I'm interested in this shampoo bar.. I've never come across one before.
I also agree with the above poster about the deodrant crystal, it's fantastic!
There are also options for green living that require no purchasing, such as just giving up shampoo (or using alternative products such as bicarbonate of soda). It is only using shampoo that makes our hair go greasy so quickly, that's why if you don't wash your hair for a month instead of every day, when you do wash it again, you'll need to much less than before. Any hair products with little amounts of chemicals in will increase the time you have before you need to wash your hair again.. so natural products are best.
And better for the environment too!

I would try them and am sure others would also but it might take alittle thought planning to get the first few customers to try and spread the word. maybe offer a bigger basket as a prize where if they purchase a certain dollar amount they get entered to win a bigger gift basket. Also ask customers to write up their views on the items they purchased and maybe give a small discount to them if they bring the reviews back so you can post them on a sign for new customers to see the actual people who have bought from you. (you know a picture and their views might help sell more items)

No, I don't ever use soap on my skin and it's extremely rare that I use shampoo... a bottle will last me years.
Soap and shampoo aren't necessities, so if you want to go green, go without. After a while your hair and skin adapt to the lack of them and actually stay pretty clean on their own, only washing them with water.

Intriguing - I like the simplicity - you may also consider encouraging reuse by offering a reusable flour-sack bag for future loose purchases and give points for every reuse and reward after repeat purchase (like 10 or so) with a discount or free product. Good Luck!

Absolutely! I've actually used a shampoo bar before- it's a neat gift to get people if it comes in a gift basket.

Of course I would buy that kind of products!
I even know of a deodorant that is in a form of a rock. It last way longer than normal deodorants and keep you fresh and smelling good for a longer time.
I also like when this type of products have aromatherapy in then, with natural fragances like vanilla and lavender.

yes...but no on the baby products.
homemade soap can be very strong and while I would know when/if to stop, it would be much harder to tell with a baby (like allergens)
and, I'd rather buy a recipe to make the stuff myself so I know what they contained.
