Im interested in rock climbing indoors but would like the option to do it by myself. Is there any requirment to have a belayer or something? What kind of safety is provided for solo climbers indoors?

Of course you can but it's not safe for any but experts most of them will still use a spotter or lineman
Some places have a resistance-wynch that pulls the slack then brakes are aplied when a cirtain puon resistance is felt( similar to the new seatbelt technologies

Many of the larger climbing gyms have hydraulic type of auto belay devices and they are made so that you can use it by yourself. You may not be able to go on all the routes, but you may even meet someone you like.
