For starters, send everyone you know to Affluenza.org and read it thoroughly. I send people there all the time and it helps with a wide range of problems in the world, including saving money and family problems.

Their book is very well written and will convince anyone with any degree of sense. It is available in most libraries.

The biggest issue is education and getting past all of the disinformation and anti-green whackos.

We need ways to reach the public with the truth in a way that is not threatening. When people feel threatened they tend to stick their head in the sand and run from the truth.

Because of this issue I established an environmental education non-profit organization, which I am currently the chairman for, and which goes out to schools and community events with information about ways of living that have worked throughout human history and which still apply today.

It is called HELMS and is a fun way to teach and learn based on a renaissance fair or medieval recreation approach.

I also work in research on sustainable energy production and have a process in the works that will produce 1/3 of the energy used in the US from garbage in a way that does not pollute and makes clean fertilizer. We are currently trying to find investors to build our first prototype facility. Once this system goes into effect it will help a lot more people live green because it will be part of the basic infrastructure of towns and cities around the world.

Another part of the answer is to redesign our approach to living so that the basic systems that allow people to live green are part of the overall structure of our cities and become a normal and profitable job for people.

In pursuing this, I also work with the team to develop the worlds first themed entertainment facility which is geared towards using the setting of Myth and Legend as an educational and inspirational tool to motivate people to see the value of eco friendly and socially responsible ways of living that were part of everyday human life before the rise of the industrial age and humans becoming slaves to wages so they can buy things they do not need.

The systems being put into place in the facility will act as a model for green living at a city level that will make even the most uninterested person live a much greener existence without even knowing about it or having to care.

The facility will also reclaim several tens of thousands of acres of former strip mined land and turn it into organic farms and forests while managing the local watershed in more sustainable ways that increase habitat and clean water.

We have already recruited a number of volunteers from people here on YA to help with the effort.

The more people join us the more it helps us all.

By making green regular. Green has to be the mainstream, and then people will just live. Then the ones that will get marginalized will be the ones who live anti-green.

Make green mainstream.

By example. Being open and receptive all points and view. Establishing relationships with neighbors, friends that we don't come across preaching.

I volunteer caring for street trees in my neighborhood in NYC. People will stop from time to time and ask what I am doing. an opportunity has presented itself for me to share my passion for caring for trees and my city. I will ask if they would like me to send them information how to get involved and classes.

I find that this leads to discussing my choices in lessening my impact on the environment.

I can go on and on, but we can't berate each other if we are to open the eyes, minds and heart of those around us.

Peace and success to you in be an example to others.

you have to teach them.
talk to all of your friends about it.
spread the word

if you can make laws about it, please DO.

Stand infront of your capitol building with a sign that says "HONK IF YOU WANT TO LIVE GREEN"

then have a buddy about 50 feet down the road from you with another sign that says "THEN WHY ARE YOU DRIVING A CAR?"

Start a campaign in your city would be a good idea and letting your city council know about it.
