Some might.
But if a person is really repenting then should it matter that the come to jesus 5 years or 5 minutes before they die. ?

OOOO sorry not an atheist but i couldn't resist.i think alot of them just want sympathy not to free them selves from guilt but so people will look at them as if they were good so they can get out of doing time or make people think there doing right when there not.there are thoughs few though that do feel sorry for what they have done.but only God can judge them.

No. I believe most criminals turn to Jesus only to possibly free them from incarceration. Just more phony religious garbage.

Your question is loaded - are you any different that you should prompt yourself to ask - only to free your self from your own guilt ? radical policy solutions are found with a shared hearts desire towards radical forgiveness whatever your belief system and to my understanding religion does not come into the blame game - that is a cop out old hat hypocritical clap trap piffle ! what's up dude ?!

Hmmm, as you sit there comparing your sin to theirs and proclaiming yourself more worthy of Heaven. I won't answer for their motives, but I'm questioning yours in asking this question. Nobody merits heaven on their own.

Absolutely. Its easier to ask forgiviness from an imaginary god that has to love you than to look your victim in the eye during a trial.

I don't know about "most", but many do. Christianity is appealing to parole boards.
