you probably won't have any symptoms. usually one starts off with a lower dose to see how one is affected by the antidepressant, then one can increase the dosage. just be sure to check with your doctor before doing it. you did that so you should be okay.

When you increase the amount of an anti depressant you sometimes will get slight side effects, just while the body adjusts to this new dosage. If your doctor definitely thinks it's fine, you can go ahead and do it - it's impossible to say which, if any, side effects you'll get; you might just feel a bit tired, or a bit more miserable, or get a slight headache, or feel light headed.
All of these medications have so many possible side effects; the general rule of thumb is that as long as you don't feel unwell, or develop a rash, or have trouble breathing, or are in pain, then don't worry too much!
If you up the dose and then feel bad, do call your doctor again , though. And remember it can take a good month for these drugs to really start helping; longer, sometimes.

Going from 10mg to 20mg after having been on Lexapro (escitalopram) for some weeks would be a routine dose increase. You should not experience any side effects from it, but a few patients may experience slight agitation.
In theory there is a risk of serotonergic syndrome. However this is very unlikely, particularly if you are only taking Lexapro and not taking any other antidepressants (eg St Johns Wort or any other antidepressant medications).

I waited about 4 weeks to go from 10mg to 20mg. The only side effects I had were the same ones I had when I started on the 10mg. For me that was nausea and some dizziness that only lasted for about a day and a half. I only noticed a slight improvement in my mood. A few weeks after that, I was raised to 30mg and within a week or two, I really felt it working and my depression, etc., really lifted.

If you haven't experienced any side effects on 10mg, you probably won't see any at 20mg, and that's a pretty standard increase after a few weeks.

once you strengthen the quantity of an anti depressant you in many cases receives gentle factor outcomes, purely whilst the physique adjusts to this new dosage. if your scientific professional devoid of doubt thinks it extremely is agreeable, you will have the skill to pass forward and do it - that is not attainable to point which, if any, factor outcomes you will have the skill to get; you're able to easily think purely a splash wiped out, or purely a splash extra depressing, or get a delicate headache, or think soft headed. All of those medications have maximum of plausible factor outcomes; the common rule of thumb is that see you later as you do not think in adverse well being, or enhance a rash, or have project respiration, or are in suffering, then do not concern too much! in case you up the dose and then think risky, do call your scientific professional as quickly as extra , although. And undergo in techniques it may take a nicely month for those medications to extremely start up helping; longer, in many cases.

Are you taking 10 once a day or twice? I started 10 once, then went to twice instead of higher milligram. Better than one 20 I've heard. I have a friend that had some weight gain problems with it. But, she found she just had to watch how much she was eating. She didn't eat when she was depressed, but feeling better, she started REALLY enjoying food. Good for you trying to get to a better place for your own sake. Best of luck to you.
