Urinating large volumes is common is diabetes, but it's not typically painful. Just wanted to set the record straight on that, first of all. Does your urine look a different color than usual? Is it cloudy? That could be a UTI. Some UTI's are not painful so it's possible to still have one and not have the stinging, especially in the early stage. Is your urine reddish? If so, it could be blood. I'm thinking if it's not a urinary tract infection, it could be a stone in one of your ureters. Or a cyst. A sexually transmitted disease like syphillis could also cause discomfort (not that I'm questioning your love life here). Some people can pick them up and be symptom free for quite awhile. There's no way to know for sure until you see your Doctor for proper examination and testing, which I advise. Good luck!

It still may be a urine infection.
Get it checked by your family doctor as urinary infections are very easily managed with some antibiotics.
If it isn't a urinary infection there are a few other possibilities:
Anything that irritates the urethral opening (where the urine comes out) could cause this sensation but is more likely to cause the stinging you associate with urinary infections.
A variety of conditions could cause spasms of the bladder which might explain your symptoms.
There is a condition called "interstitial cystitis" but this is usually not diagnosed until urinary symptoms (including troubling nocturia - getting up several times at night to urinate) occur for longer than 6 months.

Hi. I also think that you should sèe your doctor as a matter of urgency. If it's possible, you better visit a specialist in the field. You better act hastefully, so as to prevent this health disorder reaching a point beyond control.
