more complete and the answerers should be able to point out sites where you can find all of the proof that has been accumulated on the subject. Genetic proof of evolution, the emergence of resistant bacteria, dozens of hominid species in the fossil record that date back over 7 million years...good stuff. You should read the science from a reputable source before bashing an important part of biology.

And please don't right back saying "I don't do that" then the question wasn't for you.

Travis--

A+B That's the kind of question that should be posted to the science board.

C. Does proof hold more fact than a thought....yes. I'm not sure where you're going with that one.

D. People who deny evolution are debating science in order to prove a religious point, and scientists have been known to jump into the whole religion thing.

And this: Grow out of 8th grade, maybe this will become apparent in further education.

is stupid and insulting. Did you have a point to make?

If you're so smart, where did life come from?

Where is the scientific proof of where life came from?

And the proof that you can dig up, does that hold more fact than the thought of divine intervention?

No. And that is the reason why Religious people don't argue their point in science, and why scientists don't go to argue in religious debates.

Grow out of 8th grade, maybe this will become apparent in further education.

This is a very good counter question to the question often asked "why do atheists come here if they don't believe in God?".I agree that people who are against the idea of evolution should at least look at the science behind it.Even if they won't see the proof for what it is they might at least learn something about the science behind an old Earth and realize that there is something more to it then what they currently believe which, as far as I have heard them say anyway, is that the Earth is six thousand years old give or take and was created by a magical God in six days.I often wonder what it takes for a person to be so easily dismissive of science over such an absurd simplistic answer.

If you believe evolution is true, and you are in this forum, shouldn't you be able to provide this information for people who are wanting to learn?
If you do have this information, why won't you share it with the people here?
If you don't have it, then why aren't you learning from these reputable sources yourself, before you decide whether or not evolution is such an important part of biology?
It doesn't matter if I do that or not, evolution just isn't that important to me to argue about. But if it were, I'd know what I was talking about before I accused anyone else of arguing without knowing.
It has been well said that it is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.
We no longer have any doubts in your case, at least....

They seem to associate Evolution with Atheism, which is a mistake on their part. Atheists have existed far longer than the Theory of evolution came around. The problem arises when they think that all of us Atheists have a doctorates in Biology, sorry anti-evolutionists you are coming to the wrong place for such debate most of us are just regular people like you who keep up with science but are not experts in the field. I try to answer evolution questions to the best of my knowledge, but honestly go to the science section and ask if you want answers. It seems when you ask such questions here you actually do so because you know the science section will tear your ideas apart.

Posting a science question in the religion and spirituality section often means the asker does not really want an answer. His goal is to ask a question that he believes proves some scientific knowledge to be wrong, or that science does not yet answer, and make the implicit claim that the only other explanation is a god, and specifically, the same god he happens to believe in.

It's the "god of the gaps" - intellectually bankrupt, since it favors ignorance instead of knowledge, and because of the contained logical fallacy.

For the simple reason that macroevolution is not science but philosophy.

It might interest you to learn that many reputable scientists today reject Darwinian evolution. Even the newer version (punctuated equilibrium) is rejected. The alternative name for it is 'hopeful monsters'. And THAT is not coming from religious people but from those who accept macroevolution. According to these people, the mechanics of macroevolution is not yet known. So, even among evolutionists, there is controversy as to the method : most still accept Darwinian evolution (inspite of the FACT that it is not viable), some accept 'punctuated equilibrium', and there are the new breed of evolutionists who point out with SCIENTIFIC evidence that since Darwinian evolution and punctuated equilibrium cannot adequately account for macroevolution, then there must be a third, but yet unknown, method.

So, what will I find in the category you mentioned? The same arguments that I find here.

What is so great about science? Science is just a good proof of God existence. God are far beyond science and our imagination. The whole universe is too good to exist on coincidence or so called naturally.

Why don't you post your questions on the God's board. He will provide you with a good answer.

Why don't Atheists post their questions on the Mythology board?

The questions and answers will likely be more complete and the answerers should be able to point out specific web sites devoted to fantasy.

But the belief system I was indocrinated into tells me that if I don't believe in the propaganda and texts written by men and sanctioned by the men of my church, that I will go to an unpleasant place that they made up to manipulate and control me into doing and thinking as they believe I should. And I want to remain a member of their club.
