Why is it when someone says they dont believe in god, People automatically believe they worship the devil? One of my very good friends is an atheist, when people ask his religion and he tells them most of they time they are like oh my god you worship the devil? Why is that?

Some people are very closed minded, they have a with god or with the devil attitude. They never even considered all the other religious beliefs that exist, let alone an athiest's standpoint.

What a bunch of jack@sses! Athiests don't believe in the devil!

You say you don't judge people based on their religion
But isn't that what you just did?

Atheists don't all believe in the nonexistence of God
Some just quite simply choose not to address the issue because it has no relevence to them in their subjective experience. To force one to make a statement about whether they believe in God or not is presumptious. Why should they want to or have to respond. Just because I as a Christian asks someone about their beliefs this does not mean they are obligated to answer. And if they do not believe in a god then they would obviously not believe in a devil then would they. Don't lump all Christians into the category of judgemental just because you feel comfortable being there yourself ok?

Thats very simple because most religious people do not think before they speak.
They feel they have to get 20 bible quotes and a little satan devil finger pointing so you would either accept their religion or preferrably you will go away without asking any questions

My friend I don't I might probably not be a very good answerer. But one thing I can say is that there is no space for fence-straddlers in this life, it's either you believe in God or you don't. Well then who else is there to believe excpt God? The exact opposer? I believe so.

This is purely assumption on their part I too have friends who do not have my beliefs but I know for a fact that they have no time for such nonsense as devil worship either.

I don't know why someone would so quickly make that assumption. Unless someone is specific as to their practices, how can someone assume? Go figure

Not many I see do that (and those, only here on R&S)... but if it happens it can *only* be due to extraordinary and profound ignorance. ... I mean, Demons are as false as all the Gods!

Maybe it's because they have this crazy belief that: Whosoever is not against my enemy is against me.--- If you are not for God, then you are against God. --- Like that. If you do not join me against terrorism then you are for terrorism. That kind of mentality.

I'm too tired to come up with a smart *** comment, so I will just say this. People fear things they don't know.
