It sounds as if you have reached the same conclusion that I did. Religions are made by man and has little to do with the personal relationship one has with his creator. If it is weird...then join the crowd.

I think that is perfectly normal. There are many flaws with religion and what they teach. After all, religion basically is just history and the way people documented it. Also, between the documentation and the teaching, there is the interpretation. Everyone will interpet differently. So go on believing in God, pray to God, and don't worry about not wanting to be part of any one religion.

Not weird... I wouldn't say normal either though as in "normal" being general amongst society. Many, many Christians dislike/disregard "religion".
Religion and truth are two different things. But, here on earth one persons perspective of truth is different from anothers belief of truth.
Religion becomes a manifestation of itself and God becomes no longer the foundation and primary focus that was intended, and instead the "religion" itself does. Therefore, essentially making the religion, church, man, God.
RELIGION IS NOT GOD. Neither is knowledge of God.
GOD IS GOD.

It's normal, to a point. We have bad memories of religion because the religions we live under are not operating correctly. We celebrate holidays not ordained by G-d, which is forbidden, and we do not celebrate holidays and feasts established by G-d, which is an insult to him. There is nothing wrong with religion. Just read the definition. There are certain things we should be very religious about, such as the Sabbath day, keeping G-d's feats and holidays, and working to further the kingdom.

it's not weird. It seems that quite alot of people believe in God, but not a religion. The problem is with religion that there is so many, and also that there seems alot of bickering, and hypocrits. What is interesting though about the religions, is that religion means basically a set of rules to get into heaven, but no one is good enough to get into heaven, no matter how good we are at keeping rules, we all fail. Thats why being a christian is different. We will openingly admitt that we can't get to heaven on our own, but we need Jesus to help us. See christianity is all about relationship, rather than a set of rules. Yeah there are problems within the church, as with any normal organisation, and I apologise on their behalf for anything that they have done that makes you not want to believe in their way. But you are already at step one. Pray to God and ask him to show you the other steps, and follow them and see where they lead. In fact I will do that for you now.

Not really thats the first step in finding out whats real and what is not. Religions build walls between believers. Also men use them to collect money from Gods people. This is very bad on the poor whom Jesus told us to help. I no longer attend a building which they try to convince us is a church. Because I know the true church is Gods people in which he lives. And Gods people can fellowship most anywhere they are. It doesn't have to be a building where they are expected to pay a preacher even if he is not as close to God as you might be. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. 1Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Some people think it is weird but I think it is everyone's right to express their beliefs any way they want to.
Organised religion is not for me either. I am not totally convinced that there is a God or something in control of everything but I want to be free to think about it in my own way & not have other people's ideas thrust on me every Sunday morning.
I hate the church-goers that frown on us for not attending but I feel that if God is all around us all the time then there really is no need to make a special visit to church at the same time every week.
I hope my ranting makes sense.

Faith in God based on inner experience from a still mind is a sign of true spirituality. Organized religion conditions ones consciousness with its dogmas and superstitions. You need not despise anything including religion. You need to sympathize and be tolerant and try to transform. Attractions and aversions are impediments to spirituality, because despising anything is a sign of ego at its dominant play and that is a barrier between you and God. (spirituality)

But you don't despise God. Maybe it's the way some people push religion at you. I can understand that.

Normal, not weird. Religion was created by man, not God, Jesus, or the holy ghost. Belief in God is Personal to each of us, and it feels good to hang out with others that think the same way and so churches were created, however, each group has different ideas, but really not one of them can say they are the correct church, after all only God knows! I go to church because I want to not because I think like the other members of the church, but it does me good to go for myself.
