I am wondering whether any study has been done to find out what percentage of people 100 or older ever had periods of intense physical exercise in their lives. My suspicion is that too much exercise is not a good thing, but I'm unsure. Have any famous athletes made it to 100 yet?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I agree with you. I think that too much of anything is not good. Getting plenty of excercise is really good and will help you stay healthy and live longer, but too much and over working your body seems like it would wear your body out prematurely. I have a neihbor who is 99 and she still gets out to walk everyday!

Her mom made it to 97, and her grandmother was 89 when she died, sooo...
