everyone in the religion section is so angry. you keep telling everyone else that theyre attacking your views and then you turn around and attack them. can everyone just do youself a favor and realize that most of you would probably get along if you stopped thinking that just because you do or dont believe in god doesnt definitavely mean you hate the other sides ideas?

TO BAD GOD:
this is exactly what im talking about. in the majority of people i see, everyone is usually accepting.. its the annoying people that post things like 'i hate atheists' and 'christians are intolerant bigots' and things like that that convince everyone that all the people they dont agree with 100% hate them, so they just start hating back.

i guess the sad truth is that no matter how many people know its wrong and try to make the world a good place, there will always be evil to ruin my day. i think ill go lay down before i have another dillusion along the lines of man being inherently good natured.

We must admonish the sinner, you know, point out how bad they are for not believing like we do.

It's not just the religious that are mean and hateful (whether they admit it or not), anyone that is different, in any way, is often usually mocked, ridiculed, persecuted, killed, or generally messed with because they don't look right, act differently, believe differently, . People want others to be like them in many ways, they are threatened and fear things that are different from them or that they don't understand. This statement isn't mean, it's the truth...which is also something that upset people if they don't believe with someone else's view or perception of (what the) truth (is).

As a big sports fan, I've witnessed some silly discussions over in those sections. People cursing eachother relentlessly, simply because they're for the opposite team. Not so different from this section, but about something that is much less important in the whole scheme of things. It would be odd to see a religious discussion completely free of all confrontation when it is so important to our way of life. It'd be nice if we could keep it under control more often though.

super question - for me, that could be a place the place human beings can share evaluations, and that i'm able to learn slightly extra approximately what's in contact while it easily is composed of enjoying the game. i'm from a usa the place tennis is only usual in very short bursts and as such few human beings i understand individually are into it. The section is an superb thank you to debate champions, predictions, archives, and commonly used gamers besides as gaining awareness of only slightly background of the tennis game alongside the way. yet another plus element is that on the finished, universal customers in this section seem a stable and colourful crowd. the unusual ingredient is, I even have used Yahoo! solutions for 2 years altogether, and function only in the near previous theory to apply the tennis section! nevertheless, extra perfect previous due than on no account.

I don't hate anyone...

I just dislike intolerant and ill-informed people who come in here preaching what their religion says.
Which in turn demeans the other religion and call it "Of the Devil..."
You cannot call anything negative because you would only be contradicting yourself because there are pros and cons to everything, including this section of Yahoo! Answers.

People's opinions vary, but they're knowledge of other religions is very LOW, which is quite sad actually.

Some people think its clever and fashionable to attack religion. I'm defending it without being a practicing Christian.

People are extremely confused when it comes to religion. It is also a subject that many hold close to their heart so they want to defend it. Bottom line is, we are all confused and wandering in this wonderful universe.

I agree, But when they christian right continues to point at me and say I'm weak, that I'm influence by the devil and other propaganda, I will not take it lying down. I will treat others with kindness and respect if they treat me and other atheists with kindness and respect.

Most of us would get along in person. It's so much fun to blast each other. On answers you have a degree of anonymity and feel more free to speak your mind.

that's a pretty sweeping generalization.
most of the people on here are very tolerant. of course there are a few people (anywhere) that like to stir things up.
if you look you'll find some very nice people here.
