weight is not a good measurement because muscle weighs more than fat and so if you follow the bmi scale for your height you don't actually take into consideration your bone structure. you really need to look at losing fat not weight. If you have a YMCA near you they can do an electronic body composition analysis on you that will tell you how much fat, water, muscle and bone you have and it will calculate what your optimum weight should be.

Generally between 101lb and 136lb depdning on build, musle mass, etc. Some people may fall outside this range and still be healthy. It depends on your body fat percentage. Between 18%-32% body fat is acceptable for a typical female. I'd say 28% body fat or less would be optimal healthwise.
