Yes, called a nymphomaniac. Unless you're the same way, the relationship won't work, and usually ends up with the nympho cheating.

Yeah, people can be addicted to sex.
But I don't think that it's just physical intercourse that people get addicted to. I think it's the feelings that go along with anything sexual.
My ex was a sexual deviant for want of better words. He would have sex with me twice a day, sometimes more, yet would masturbate everyday and look at porn for hours on end each day aswell, for him the addiction was to anything remotely sexual, no only sex.
And when I was younger I worked as a sex worker for a number of years and when I wanted out it was very hard to get out. Not only from a money perspective, but the sense of power that came from the job............
I would definately have considered myself a sex addict. And now I am what I would call a recovering sex addict. Now I don't treat it so much as a "hit" but more of a fun treat with my man.

Drugs, alcohol, food, computer use, SEX, are a small sampling of behaviors that if done in excess, and for an extended time, are very addictive. I'm guessing if you thought about it you could add many behaviors to this list. The common thread is the human mind, and therefore subject to a myriad of addictions if self control is not practiced. Good luck.

Yes...there are sex addicts. The need stems from two things: seratonin levels (the feel good hormone in your brain) is released during sex and causes a rush. Mainly though, as with all addictions, there are deep seated feelings of inadequacy that push people into the addiction. They get off on the thrill but also on the idea that people WANT to have sex with them..making them feel wanted, sexy, loved.... They start to see themselves as only valid through other people's eyes and use sex to get positive feedback: You're SO hot! You're SO good! You're SO desired. You're SO wanted!

Unfortunately, like most addictions, while it starts out self-gratifying...eventually there is shame in the behaviour and the inability to control it.

It's not called being a sex addict...used to be referred as nymphomania.

First of all, how old were you and your girlfriend? When we are young we are naturally curious and very suductive. Yes, you can be addicted to sex, but that is a very serious issue. One needs to ask themself that question and accept the truth . That is the only way to move on from there.

yes, but the report i saw on t.v. ( i think it was 20/20 or some news show like that) some ppl really are "addicted" and some just crave the attention and touch of another human being, and they could care less who that was

to some point you can be addicted to anything mentaly, physicaly no because ur body doesn't ever "need" sex, but you can kinda just want it so bad that its like an addiction.

This might sound far off but weed, you body never need the chemicals in the weed, so ur not physicaly addicted, but mentaly because u want it.

Yes, it is possible. It gets really serious when the person will do anything to get it. It is not an issue of cheating, it is an obsession. The source is not the issue. Unfortunately, it is not necessarily an issue of you being irresistible.

Sex releases endorphines to the brain which feel good, and like any chemical you can build up a tolerance to it until you need more and more to get the reaction to take place that makes it feel good.
