cardio is the only fat burning exercise - do it 4-6 times a week for average of 45 min.
cardio burns fat and muscle so combine it with weight lifting - weights first and then cardio

Both.
Because you want to get ripped.
To achieve this, you need to maintain your muscle mass. That is the weightlifting part. To melt your body fat, you need cardio.
Do cardio after lifting, at 65% of your max heart rate. Do cardio days (no lifting) where you do interval training, and work your butt off until you just can't stomach it any more.
Eat clean and often, 6 to 8 meals a day, with higher protein intake, and have one day in the week where you increase your carb intake (to freak your metabolism and keep it in high gear). Drink yourself silly with water. Serious; like a gallon a day. Or more.
If I do this program for a month, I usually drop my body fat from 10% (which I try n keep all year round) to 5 or 6% (for those days at the beach ;-)).

I would recommend a combination of cardio, weight lifting, and diet to lose fat and get ripped. Olympic weight lifting is a great way to build muscle and get ripped. It gives you a whole body workout. Concentrating on biceps and triceps will leave you with poor results. How much body fat do you need to lose? Here is a good reference.

Bikram Yoga and some light cardio. I used to go to the gym and I find I get the most noticable result from the Yoga.

They both help but resistance exercise (weightlifting or power yoga) is actually more effective because it increases your lean mass which burns extra calories 24 hours per day. Cardio does not have this effect.
However, proper nutrition is more effective than both types of exercise combined.

I was told by my cardiologist that both cardio and weight lifting in moderation will help improve your body. Also, you have to eat correctly so go see a dietitian.

Well muscle is denser and more tightly packed than fat. So unless your building muscle your not really going to get bigger. Sounds like you are just toning your body. You may gain weight but you will look skinnier / more lean.
