Yeah, this society, including many Christians are a bunch of babies. Just look at all the credit cards. We can't even save enough money to buy PANTS! How sad. We have fed our desires so much, that doing without has such a warped meaning that missing a meal (or maybe just what we would want for lunch) is a hardship. In this society, without some deep personal searching and seeking God in His word, our "salvation" can be so warped that we are Christian in name only.
Too true. Too sad.

Excellent question I have observed the same thing in many people who profess Christianity.
You must remember though that there are a small percentage who truly wish to serve... Those are the ones who dedicate their lives to feeding the hungry and/or bringing hope to the hopeless. They give their time and resources freely to those in need

Some people want to serve God when it is convenient for them or when they get in trouble. They come running to the altar crying and carrying on. I believe people should serve God when things are going well or bad in their lives. It is not God's place to serve mere humans.

Of course that would be great wouldnt it!? But it does not work that way. This life you will not get everything you want because God makes his own descions for your life and you have to follow what he wants. But in return you get peace and joy even through the hard times. This problem is some of us lack faith through bad times thats why we worry when bad things happen when God commanded us NOT to worry and be happy.

Fabulous question. If we truly serve God we will not suffer much "chastisement" I suspect.

If we follow God's will, we have to serve Him. No choice. We can fool ourselves, but if we truly follow Him, we serve.

He has one solid principle.
He helps those who help themselves.
He serves when people serves himself well.
So all will be served happiness by that way.

Hopefully we as his children would accept all things from him and not pick and choose what we think is good.
