The normal range of values for AST (SGOT) is from 5 to 40 units per liter of serum (the liquid part of the blood).

The normal range of values for ALT (SGPT) is from 7 to 56 units per liter of serum.

• AP (Alk Phos) U/L (30 to 120)
• GGT (Gamma GT) U/L (5 to 35)
• LD Lactate Dehydrogenase U/L (100-225)

AST and ALT are the transaminases. They are released when liver cells die and indicate necrosis of hepatocytes as occurs in various types of hepatitis, ischemia of the liver etc.

Alkaline phosphatase and gamma glutamyl transpeptidase are secreted by the cells ling small bile canaliculi. Their levels go up when these cells proliferate in the presence of obstruction of the bile duct.

The wiki page has some values for liver enzymes. I can't remember them off the top of my head, but when I get back to work I can get the values from the labs.
