WoW, I'm surprised by the answers so far....Lets just say, America has been at war with Iran for a long time now. The political/public war thats reported in Iraq is fueled primarily by Iran. Iraqis can't fight even if you trained them. Read between the lines.

No, mostly because a number of our highest ranking officers have let it be known that will retire should such an order come down. Also, Bush does not have the same irresponsible blank-check Congress that existed from 2000-2006, and there is no one else in the world who would help us (Australia does not count).
Then there is the matter of Iran’s 500,000 man military with maybe 20 million available in reserve; and it would only day Iran a day to mine the Gulf and shut down all oil shipments.
Bush has exhausted our military personnel and our ability to economically support extended engagements so far from home.
Finally, Bush as shown nothing but cowardice when it comes to dealing with nations that can actually defend themselves. Afghanistan and Iraq were two of the militarily weakest nations in human history, and Bush screwed up both so badly that, after five years in Iraq, we still do not control the road to the Baghdad airport.
Iran knows we cannot do anything and that is the reason Ahmadinejad keeps punking Bush to his face (Kim Jong-il and Chavez also goof on Bush just because they like to make fun of him in front of the world).

It wouldn't be a conventional war as seen in Iraq. The difference is the Iranians like their government. Sure people are leaving Iran quicker than those leaving Iraq, but those that stay, winning their hearts and minds would be impossible. I think everyone realizes this, which allows a stronger ability to wield diplomacy than seen with Iraq.

no, the u.s army is way too overstretched as it is and Iran knows this, we might lob a few cruise missiles at their suspected nuclear sites, but there wont be any boots on the ground.
