Check out a website called Medieval and Renaissance Food Homepage. They have tons of stuff that might give you what you are looking for. Try www.pbm.com/~lindahl/food.html.

Google Society for Creative Anachronism. These people make a life's work out of studying ancient cultures. You can contact a local group and talk to their Arts and Sciences officers, who can put you in touch with experts in their world-wide network. The SCA also puts out a professional quality magazine/sourcebook called Tournaments Illuminated, and many of these have featured recipes and proper preparation of medieval foods.

If you type in say Medieval recipes or Norse food, it should come up with some good ideas. I enjoy reading the hystory of food and recipes, and I have seen some good ones, just cannot remember what the sites where called.

Gryos are a common Greek food and boy are they good. Similiar to fajitas. For Medieval Age, try turkey legs. Norsemen ate venison I assume. Google it. See what you find.
