how to get waves with coarse hair?

i am tryin to get waves in my hair and i have coarse short hair,
i use this thing called extreme wave pomade but when i brush with it, it comes off on to my brush and my forehead. so whats the best grease and i how much should i put for coarse hair?

About the pomade coming out, make sure you massage it into your hair deeply and don't use too much. After massaging into your head for a while THEN brush it, but dont brush too hard. It's normal if some gets onto your forehead but if too mcuh is coming off it means that you're either using way too much or that its not properly applied onto your hair.

The key to waves is constant brushing... I know the guys with the best waves that I've seen were the ones who always had a brush in their back pocket and would brush their hair forward every chance they get.
Just keep brushing, not too hard, but gently and softly. persistence will get you the waves you crave...lol corny i know.!!

you should use soft sheen Carson sportin waves gel pomade or s curl 360 style wave control pomade there both diff there good thou u should try both and see which 1 works better then put a Lil water in Ur hair very Lil then put some in then brush it in Ur style then put Ur Du rag on for at least half a hour the u should b good

Just use a cheap grease that's more on the soft side. like the blue or green grease that way it won't leave white stuff on your brush. and wear a doo rag to sleep every night which will make the hair wavy. Good luck. Part that top section of in a rectangle and you can either push it forward for a softer look or tease it and then smooth it into a hump. then put a bobby pin behind the hump to keep it in place. then put all your hair in a pony tail and smooth it then you can take the bobby pin out from behind the hump. You want to use grease? Or a wave activator? I think you should use a wave activator like S curl or sumthing like dat. the kit that comes the box. you should use the one wit two kits in it, since you have coarse hair, but if you wanna use grease, i think you should use the s curl grease. it should say for coarse hair or sumthin like dat.

not too much or u will clog ur pores and then they can't breathe u end up with buildup and ur hair won't grow...just a small amount and u need to start with the hair wet...u are going to brush ur hair to sculpt it...so you are going to almost be making finger waves on ur head its that type of idea...then u can either sit under a dryer or air dry
