I'm a true Nascar fan that have been following this sport long before many wannabes have started. Its too bad a few have to ruin it for everyone else. The worst display of this had to be in Daytona when Gordon didn't win. His fans littered the track with Pepsi seat cushions & trash!! Its also too bad that only Jr fans are being accused of this. Checkout the issue of Nascar Scene the week after the 'Dega race. They show fans being arrested. Look at the tshirt on the fan in handcuffs...nice blue 48! We were at Martinsville watching Jimmie & Gordon beating & banging all the way to the finish line. Jimmie won and the Gordon fans threw the beer cans!! They were seated in front of us!!! The media accused the Jr fans of this one too!! I'm not saying none of Jr fans contribute to this behavior. I just think its wrong for anyone to do this!! We watched Kyle Busch dodge debris ALL the way around the Bristol track and there was no love lost from ANY drivers' fans there!! Yes it should stop. No its not just Jr fans!! We see it first hand!!

Well I don't drink but I am a big NASCAR fan. I am not a Jeff Gordon fan or really a fan of any of the Hendricks drivers ( I prefer Elliott Sadler) but I don't approve of all the crap that goes on when Gordon wins a race. That is ridiculous and there is really no excuse for showing such poor sportsmanship just because your favorite driver does not win. All of the drivers work hard and risk their lives every time they pull on to that racetrack to try to give the fans what they want, some teams are just having better luck right now than others.

Been a stock car fan since before there was a Nascar, and I don't touch the stuff. (Drank enough while in the military to last a lifetime.) I'm a Jr fan, but I sure don't approve of so-called fans throwing things at Gordon. The people who do it give true fans of the sport a bad name, and just as the morons at Talledega were, they should be banned from the track for life.

ive been a nascar fan every since the king of nascar won the national championship. im a big jeff gordon fan since the day he entered nascar, and i find it very puzzling when i go to a race, im surronded by dale earnhardt fans and wonder y they really dont know anything about dale earnhardt or jeff gordon. but its funny how they say all this stuff about jeff gordon when he keeps winning races. if these so-called nascar fans would get the history of nascar, they would find it to be interesting. most gordon fans would not but down earnhardt because we respect the history of earnhardts with nascar. and as jr. said at talladega, "if u had any respect for me, or the sport, u would not through beer cans at gordon." however, most of his own fans didnt even respect him enogh to listen. as he said, "i dont need fans who dont respct." so hopefully nascar does get rid of the bastards who dont respect nascar.
how would u like ur kid getting hit in the head with a beer can? (for answerers)

I am a fan, and I am not a drunk.
Real NASCAR fans are pissed off. And here is why...
1. The races are fixed. When Gorden is in winning near the end, suddenly there is mysterious "debris in the track" to lock down the order. When someone else is winning, and he is in second or third, his teammate can bump another car, cause clear debris all over the track, yet they wont cause a caution... because NASCAR loves Gorden to win.
2. Toyota. NASCAR is supposed to be STOCK CAR racing. Please, tell me where to buy a Camary with a V-8 in it. Also, NASCAR is supposed to be limited to cars made in America.
3. Ticket prices have SKYROCKETED.
4. "The Car of Tomorrow"... again, this is an American sport where the top automakers compete with their cars. Not some crappy NASCAR body.
THere are other reasons as well. The sport is going in the toilet. THat is why viewership is down. The cheating and favortism is SO obvious. It sucks. It is sad what has happened to that sport.

I don't gossip, I don't like reality shows. I don't like fools. I like to have a good time. I like most sports...including NASCAR. I drink, but, I don't bother/ disrespect people when I do. Since I do not attend any (alcoholics) meetings, I guess it's safe to say that I am a DRUNK. I agree with what you said regarding respecting the sport. I also believe that a fool will always be a fool, regardless of whether there is alcohol involved or not. Another thing you hit on was retardation....you just didn't use that word. You opted for the phrase "Grow up". I prefer saying retard, because people retar themselves in many ways every day. If folks who are "so-called" adults based on their age would just sit down and act in a responsible manner they could grow as real people rather than retard their growth. No decency, no respect, no manners, no sense. It's a shame....I really like NASCAR but I have a hard time explaining to my 10 year old son where the fan behaivor comes from.

I am a NASCAR fan.I've been going to races since 1960 and there is no place for the alcohol in the stands. If an adult wants a drink fine, but it should not be allowed in the stands.
At Talladega this year one of the "drunks" sitting about 3 or 4 rows in front of me showed his I.Q.The shirt he was wearing stated"Who Gives A Rats XXX(Butt) about the race I'm Here to drink"
This is not called for at this sort of public venue.

I'm a fan and have been since Daytona moved off the beach. I'm not really sure about the fan or drunk question but I do notice that only BEER cans are being thrown at JG's car. That seems to make the answer clear IT MUST BE THE DRUNKS.

ur right, ive been a jeff gordon fan from the age of 3(cause of my dad) but one things for sure, jeff gordon and dale sr. were best friends and jr. is good friends with gordon, when gordon did his victory lap with earnhardt sr.'s flag that was out of pure respect and a tribute to his late, great friend. jr. did what he did because of friendship and thankfulness to gordon for his great act. jr. fans always talk about gordon because they dont no the truth behind his and the earnhardts history. dont mind them.
