I know many openly gay people and it seems that their relationships never last. I was just curious.

Depends - does 10 years before one was killed in a "gay Bashing" count??

Don't judge all gays because of the actions of the ones you can see. For every "out Gay" you might see there'll be 10 discretely living a quiet life.

Yes, I know a few. I know one that's been together at least 30 years, and the other possibly even longer (but I could be wrong about that; I might be using a bias here because the couple is elderly). Of course most people I know, gay OR straight, don't seem to have relationships that last too long.

This is 50+ year relationship that started in the military in Germany. We would probably have more long term relationships in the gay community if so many hadn't died of AIDS starting in the 80's

Well my friend has been in a gay relationship for years with same person. He's going on 10 years. That's a long time, that's longer than a lot of marriages these days.

i think the reason we dont see long term couples too much is because it was less acceptable to be gay back then so people weren't open about it.. as the years go by it will be more common because its not as taboo to be gay now.

plenty. One of the most famous was J. Edgar Hoover who used to be the head of the FBI. He lived with the same man for most of his adult life.

Yep. My friend's uncle has been with his partner for over 15 years. I know several others who have been with their partner for AT LEAST that long.

There are several people I've met online that have been in committed relationship longer than I have. One lady has been with her partner for over a decade and they've adopted a little girl. They're a beautiful family. I know another man who, with his partner, are in the process of adopting a little boy from China.
