i am using microsoft word and i want to know how to put placeholders like (first name last name) in it.

I use Word a lot but am not familiar with what you describe.

So far as I know, placeholders are used in place of graphics while the document is in draft stage. This will save ink in printing.

Are you talking about merge fields like firstname, lastname when composing a document which will be merged with a datafile for multiple mailing?

If so, send me a message and I will send you instructions on merging a Word document with a Word datafile or merging a Word document with an Excel datafile.
