i had a dentist appointment and i have a cavity the dentist said they do the fillings with lazers now. can you tell me what exactly they do????

they remove the decay with a laser so it hurts less.... the filling will be placed as its always placed

THESE ARE VARIOUS DENTAL LASERS USED FOR DENTISTRY. SOME ARE SOFT TISSUE LASERS USED IN GUM SURGERY. OTHERS, ARE USED FOR CUTTING HARD TISSUES LIKE TEETH. THE DECAY IN A TOOTH IS REMOVED WITH THIS TYPE. THIS TYPE OF DECAY REMOVAL IS MORE EFFICIENT AND LESS TRAUMATIC TO TEETH.

i think he will not use "drilling" anymore so it's not more painful...
