I use my elliptical 5 days a week..I have it on medium resistance and go for about 35-40 minutes; after that, I do a little bit of weights 10 lbs for my arms and legs and crunches. I usually do this three to four days in a row, then I take a day of, then keep going. After having a baby, I lost more weight than before I became a mom...so it's working out for me just fine.

I think the answer to your question depends on how much your body can handle. If you're so sore you can't even walk, then you should probably tone it down a little bit until your muscles get used to it. If you're already in shape and work out every day, then I guess that's fine..but if you suddenly stop doing it, wouldn't your metabolism drop..and eventually you'd be prone to gaining weight?
