Just want to get some views on whether you think lil E's panalties will be upheld and should they be.My thoughts are they are all good except the 100 driver points, thats excessive and could really affect the chase standings.Drop it to 50 or 25,any thoughts?

They sure will be. I'm a Jr fan... but Nascar warned that there'd be severe penalties for violations on the C.O.T. and they're getting a point across. DEI just happened to be the first to test them. Nascar won't back off. As far as the penalties go... I could care less about Theresa losing 100 owner's points. Eury Jr can afford the 100 grand, and it dropped Jr from 12th to 14th in the standings. The way his season's going, it's not that big a deal. Personally, I'm just looking forward to 2008 and seeing him with a team with which he might have a shot at a championship.

They will be upheld because NASCAR said that they would be super-strict with the COT. I think it is a minor issue, personally, but I understand that NASCAR is trying to uphold it's word that there would be no tolerance with the COT. Plus, I can only remember one appeal ever being won (Michael Waltrip over an obscene gesture he didn't really make [or was it a swear word?]). There may have been more, but I can only remember the 1.
My biggest problem is that Michael Waltrip's manifold issue at Daytona received the same point penalty. That was much more serious, IMO.
I also the 8 team knows that they will not win the appeal, but they think it is more advantageous to have Tony Jr there during the 600.

Face it, they have to be upheld and Nascar will uphold them. Nascar stated and apparently sent memos to the teams about the COT and how seriously they were going to look for things. On purpose violation or not is not the point. It won't be excessive as long as Nascar keeps consistent which as we all know seems to be a long shot.

they should drop the points docked to 50 but no less because kahne and kenseth were docked 50 less than those 2 guys would be unfair

Yes it will.Junior is the most popular driver in the sport today. His high profile feud with his "stepmother" he will be the target of scrutiny from NASCAR.So the penalty will stand.

They will stand. NASCAR's appeal board is NASCAR. To over turn any penalty would mean that NASCAR is wrong and NASCAR is never wrong.

They will be and they absolutely should be, regardless of Jr Nations crying over it. I love all the excuses coming from them.

no doubt about it. Nascar is the judge, jury, and prosecution.
