Well if you are really having this dilemma then simply get off of your computer and spend this quality time with your family. What is going to matter 2 days, 2 months or 10 years from now... this all important question or the joy you bring to your loved ones with homemade treats you bake together or walks in the rain? All of these tech toys, tv, and games are surely a pleasure but you have to set priorities and realize they are far less important than loved ones and the moments you share that can never be recreated or revisited but through precious memories that someday will be a great comfort to you.....

I don't need to be baking cookies because I live alone, but the amount of time I spend on the computer could still be used in a more productive way. I could have a cleaner house, get more yard work done, and the list goes on.

To a point. In my case, my work involves a great deal of gadgets. I'm a radio news anchor and reporter, and in order to stay on top of what's going on, I have to stay plugged in. Many times, I'm on here while also pulling audio from another source, then it'll be edited and used in one of my stories.

I agree with you we probably spend too much time surfing. The www is a wonderful tool. We need to keep our time in check and if you have a bad feeling that you are spending too much time on the web then your probably right.

You are right. A wife or mother should not be on the computer more than 1 hour per day.

if we spent as much time baking cookies as we did online, we would buy all those diet pills they bombard us with on tv 24/7 and not be able to pay our internet bill. What a loss. LOL

We should spend more time with our families but as long as a balance is in there, I see no problem with computers.
