According to them god likes to 'test' us. For some reason his idea of a test is allowing people to commit genocide, carpet bombing, famine, plague, etc.
I'm not all that keen on worshiping anything, let alone something like THAT.

Even an atheist can answer this, we have free will. There has to be a choice, good or evil. Therefore evil has to exist.
To go a step further, the world was perfect then we messed it up.
I do get your point, why can't God create a world where evil doesn't exist and free will is still possible. Seems like a limit to God. I would really like a Christian response to this.

God did create everything perfect. He gave Adam and
Eve a free will, and THEY chose sin, not God. God does not cause man to sin, we choose to do bad things on our own. The Bible says God is light, in Him there is NO darkness at all (1 John 1:5). I read Isaiah 46 and it says nothing about what God did or didn't create. He is talking about the people of Israel making gods out of gold to worship, but that they are useless. HE is their Creator, Sustainer, and Rescuer, or Savior. If you truly believe that God created evil or that God causes us to sin, read Job 34:10-12. If God created evil or "does" anything to man, why is it repeated over and over and over in the Bible to Flee from sin, to have nothing to do with it, and that God hates it? Look at the weight of Scripture. The Bible never says God created evil. He made man and gave Him a choice, and man chose wrong. Could He have made man without giving him any choices? Sure He could have. But God, in His infinite mercy, gave man a choice, and also provided a way of reconciliation for man to Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. He did not leave us helpless, hopeless or defenseless. I encourage you to look at these verses in Job. They will help you. If you have a concordance, look up the word evil and see how many times God says He hates it and that man chooses and even looks for it. Please don't blame God for man's sin. He offers a Way to be forgiven of our sins and to give us a life that is abundant in Him. We will still not be sinless, but we will be forgiven and stengthened in Him to resist temptation of sin. I hope this helps you and anyone else who is searching for answers. Keep searching for the Truth, and you WILL find Him (...the Way, the Truth and the Life...John 14:6). God bless.

God did create everything without sin. Sin is a creation of man, not of God. God created man sinless, but with the incredible gift of free will, which raised us above mere animals and made us in God's own image and likeness. Man misused this gift and freely chose to sin. And therefore by man's choice, not God's, sin entered the world.

Don't quote me on this stuff, it's just what I believe and have learned.
God doesn't create sin, Satan does. You can have goodness without evil. God gives us the freedom to choose between these two. He has the Ten Commandments and the Bible as guidelines for us to live our lives.

i had the same question b4 and then i read the book "The Giver' in school. If you've never read it, it is about aperfect society free of all supposed pain and evil. Without evil we could never appreciate good. That person who lets u cut in front of them in the grocery line or pays for things you couldn't afford would just be the norm and in a sense not appreciated. i think evil on earth is a way for God to test us...our love for him and our endurance to succeed in doing whats right. I also believe that God oonly gives us as much as we can handle. though we may believe taht the pain in our lives is unnecessary, God knows ur future and knows how you will learn from it. (Read the story in the bible on Job.)
Good luck and god bless!

Non-existent?
Would a real creator of the entire universe really be concerned with a single member of a single species on a single planet circling a common star on the edge of one of trillions of galaxies?
Are you concerned with the life of a single ant somewhere in a rain forest? And you're much more closely related to an ant than a creator of the universe is to you.

God did not do anything to man but make him perfect. It was his choice that got him into trouble. satan would be the author of evil, he comes but to kill, to steal, and to destroy. May God Bless U.

I don't think the phrase "Through God, all things are possible" was really thought through. It just comes down to saying "anything is possible", so you could just as well say "Through cream cheese, all things are possible."
By the way, "Satanistic" isn't a word. One too many suffixes.
