I want to propose to my girlfriend. I already have the ring. We do not live together. I want it to be something she can talk about for a long time but I don't really want to do it in front of a lot of people like at a resteraunt. Any suggestions? Serious answers only please.

Hi There, I think a resteraunt would be a good place for you to do it. And when you do ask your gf to marry you Try to do it in a cool way. Be brave. Good luck on it. God bless you both.
God loves you both so much. And you should thank God for what he has giving you. And You should always be thankful
For what God will still give you both..

Well it should be some place that SHE considers appropriate. Here are a few places that people TELL me they proposed. See if any of them might be suitable for you and your darling girl:

" Elaine really liked her church. I noticed that no matter how chaotic her week had been, the minute she entered the church her body started to relax and her smile became soft and inviting. So during a quiet moment in the service, I asked her if she would choose this church if she ever got married. She said "YES" Then I asked her if she was ready for marriage and she said "YES". Then, since I had gotten TWO YESSES in a row, I would likely get a THIRD, I asked her if she would marry me and she said "YES".

Margies back yard was old fashioned but it had one thing everyone loved, a swinging seat. We often sat there without speaking for long periods and swang back and forth on that garden swing. One night, after a long silence I said " Margie will you promise NOT to fall off the swing if I asked you something?" and she promised she wouldn't. So I said " Will you marry me"? Well she broke her promise and fell off the swing, but I picked her up and forgave her and we got married. That was 50 years ago.

We always looked forward to the COUNTY FAIR each August. So one year I knew the operator of the Ferris wheel and paid him $10 to stop the wheel right at the top when Alice and I were up there.
The folks on the wheel all shrieked for a moment and shouted down to the operator. We were right at the top and I said " Alice, this is a good a place as any to ask you something. We are as near to heaven as I ever expect to go but I'd be even nearer of you said you would marry me. Alice hugged me and said yes and I waved down to the operator and he turned the machine on again and we got down.

I'm sure you'll think of other places. I hope you find the right one and congratulations when you do.

It's hard to know what to suggest since I don't know either of you, but the best thing to do is to make it special for her. Think about what she likes and what makes her feel good, and use those to plan a special event for her. If you don't want it in front of a whole restaurant of people, invite her family or a couple of friends over for dinner. It doesn't have to be a huge, detailed event to be special and amazing, unless that's what she likes. In that case, you have to do the big gesture even if it's not what you want ;-) I'm not jealous of poor guys who have to do this

No problem, man. How about you two lovebirds go to the beach or the lake like... in the afternoon or when the sun is setting. Spend some time with her there on a picnic. Then tell her how much you love her. Then propose to her. Find the right words to tell her in your heart.

I wish you luck, Lover-boy!

A day out in the park, or a day at the beach?

Plan a vacation together perhaps? What does she like to do?Where has she always wanted to go in terms of short or long-distance travel?

If you have budget problems, maybe a drive to a quiet place will do.

Suggest a place where the both of you will not be interrupted by friends/family/crowds. A cafe, movies, restaurants, the mall and amusement parks are 100% out thanks to the abundant distractions.

good thinking not doing it in front of a lot of people.
My fiance took me out to a nice dinner and on the way home we took a detour. He took me to the house I grew up in (he had permission from the owner) and took me to a favorite spot of ours on the lake in the back yard.

He wrote out this super sweet letter to me and read it,then he handed me a bag with all these wedding goodies (scrapbooking stuff, wedding magazines, a shirt, and a tote bag with my name on it that said bride to be) and at the end of me opening my presents he proposed....it was perfect.

I'm sure you'll think of a wonderful way to do it!
Congrats and best wishes!

wow. congrats! do you have a special place that you both like to go to? how about taking a drive? go to the lake or a beautiful park. i think the restaurant thing is overdone anyway.there must be someplace that is special for you. come on, think. as long as it comes from your heart, the setting doesn't matter anyway. once she looks in your eyes, everything else just disappears. best of luck

Take her on date, a nice dinner, dessert, etc. Then go to a favorite private spot, a park, a creek, some place that's just you and her, some place that she considers a fond memory of the two of you.
Good Luck!!!!

If you guys have a special spot or place to hang out you could do it there? Or take her out for ice cream and stick the ring in the sundae you buy her. That'll surely suprise her! Have her take a seat and get it for her so she doesn't know what's going on.

I think something like a picnic and pooping the question over
cold chicken. Or over a piece of cheese and a glass of wine.
I know I would think this is romantic.
Or hide the ring in a dessert and make it a surprise.
