There's plenty of evidence that gods are superstitions made by men. There is both evidence of how humans tend to make up and believe superstitions, and specific examples of how people have created gods. There are even modern examples, such as the "cargo religions". You can also look into the history of each religion to see how it started. All were started by men.
On the other hand, there is no real evidence of any gods actually existing.
And the comparison with germs is a poor one. There are gadgets we can use to see germs, or measure wind, or observe other things not visible to the naked eye. We can even see quarks by measuring their effects when atoms are broken down.
There is no gadget that can measure any effect of any god. The closest thing to a god measurement device is James Randi's God Detector. So far, I haven't seen any God Detectors show a positive result.

Most atheists have a "live and let live" philosophy and are not "evangelical" or proselytizing. Atheists tend to be free thinkers and people who believe in critical thinking and the idea that unless you arrive at your beliefs through critical thinking, evidence and reason, they are not worth having. So as far as one group trying to convince another that they are wrong, I think Evangelical christians are about a 1,000 times as guilty as atheists.
You should try reading, "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris, it is only 96 pages, you could read it in a day. I have read the Bible and I am not afraid of hearing or reading what the other side has to say, can you say the same??

Atheists really do not believe there is a God. Things existing are not evidence to them (how do we know they haven't always been in some form or another?)
The fact is, the Bible AND evolution are only theories at the moment.
It doesn't seem like Jesus will ever return, so I await the day that scientists invent the first time machine so we can truly find out how and why we got here.

We can see brains because some atheists out there decided to question the Bible and pursue scientific knowledge by dissection-which used to be forbidden by the church. We are also aware of the germs that cause disease and pestilince because of that same willingness to question the Bible and think that plagues are more than just God's wrath or punishment for the wicked.

You folks are often saying things like I have proof of god. When we show you this is not proof. You take that to mean we are trying to disprove god. If you don't like that than quit claiming you have proof of god.
Science didn't delve into evolution to disprove god. You are just threatened because if you accept science it contradicts your bible, many of you are afraid to even truly examine the evidence. You cover you eyes and put your fingers in your ears.

No self respected atheist wants to CONVINCE you of anything. It's you, who is trying to push your stupid faith on everybody.
Atheists do not care about you, your believes and your God.
They do feel sorry for all you brainwashed "believers," but they do not have TV ministries, churches, Bibles in every hotel room.
They do not start EVERY conversation with "I'm an atheist."
It makes me want to puke, when a stranger comes up to me and declares: "I'm a Christian." You are? OK, what do you want, a medal?
Have you EVER had a STRANGER come up to you and all of a sudden say: "I'm an atheist?" So, who is trying to convince whom?

There are many different things scientists believe without proof. from quarks to black holes and many things in between. Sub atomic science is a lot of faith and many things that CAN'T be seen with a microscope.

Who cares. There is a time to speak and a time to listen. They are speaking when they should be listening.
It they can convince someone not to believe in God, that person never REALLY believed. If they knew God they wouldn't even listen to what they have to say, let alone believe it.

Yeah, but we can see those germs using microscopes. If I saw God under a microscope I'd be a believer.
Personally, I don't try to convince people there is no god, unless, and only in the cases of when they try to convince me, despite me politely saying 'no thanks, I'm not interested.'
