Would agree with Kong Fu Zi.
May come in useful further down the line... :-)
(Added):
If you have humility, you're practicing courage, fortitude, doing 'what has to be done'... and if judges have humility, there's true justice.
(Added):
I think it's like a ladder.
Humility (when authentic), can be the sign of a developed soul.
One that's cultured & understanding.

Humility is the solid foundation of all virtues." - Kong Fu Zi
I like this quote not just b/c Kong was my countryman, but also b/c I'm an independent and self-centered person who must constantly remind himself of what Kong said.

I don't think you can KNOW is you are doing what you are meant to. But the most important way to understand the self IMHO is to be able to examine yourself from as objective a position as is possible. Various psychologists and others have developed 'exercises' to attain this objective position. In the end, though, you really need faith in your judgment, because you can't ever truly know.

I think the most important skill is to be able to be completely and utterly honest with yourself as to WHY you choose to do particular things. Don't bother with trying to be completely honest with others as it may hurt them more than help. If you dare to look and acknowledge the underlying reason to each and everything you do, you will realize that you yourself are in control of most everything that happens around you, and in that will become very strong.

Be True to who you are.. Don't let anyone influence what/who/how you are... Never be a follower...I mean what is worse leading and making a mistake or following and making the same mistake someone else just made?

I say, find what is important TO YOU. You've cited a variety of other peoples' opinions. Look inside yourself and decide what is there to know who you are meant to be. You alone create your destiny.

I think that everyone needs to admit, that there is something good about themselves. Everyone is capable of being successful in life, and everyone needs to try to do something good for themselves.
