2 Corinthians 5:6-7
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

We are not in sight of God while we are in this world so we walk by faith with Him. When we go to be with our Lord we shall walk by sight because He will be before us... Jim

2 Corinthians 5:7 says it is true - if you are talking about faith in God. We have the Bible to point out truth and error. If our eyes tell us something that the Bible disagrees with, we are to go by faith in God & the Bible and not by site.

For example:

1. Thessalonians 4:17 tells we will be "caught up in the air" to be with Jesus at His 2nd Coming. His feet won't touch the ground. So, if some being comes to this earth and says they are God & their feet are on the ground, well, I'll walk by faith and know what I see is not my Jesus.

2. Isaiah 8:19 says we are suppose to stay away from familiar spirits & wizards that conjure up the dead. And many verses of the Bible say that the dead are sleeping in the grave. So, if I see a 'spirit' of someone I know to be dead I need to walk by faith that the Bible is true and not believe what my eyes tell me because Satan is deceitful.

This is completely false! Though we have faith, we don't ignore our God given senses. You will be hard pressed to find anyone crossing the street with their eyes closed.

"sight".. not "site".... unless you mean "website" and are implying that people should not be "walking by Yahoo Answers"... in which case I would agree with you.

But, yes - Christians are to walk primarily by faith and not merely by things that can be physically seen by the eyes.
