How many rats can The Rat Carriage House (R-640) from Martins Cages hold?

That cage is too small for even one rat.

The Martin's 690 is an EXCELLENT cage for up to 4 rats. Some people like the 680 or 685 too. The absolute SMALLEST of the Martin's cages you should get is the 670 and only 2 rats should live in it. And be SURE to get the powder coating -- you will really regret it if you don't.

Of course you know you MUST have at least 2 rats, right? They NEED company.

BTW -- good choice. The Martin's make the BEST cages available!

That cage is too small for even one adult sized rat. Rats need at least 2 cubic feet per rat. The smallest Martins that can fit at least one rat is The Rat Cubbyhole (R-660), however you want to get as large as possible, not just adequate.

You can use the rat cage calculator to tell you if the size is large enough, you just plug in the dementions.

Just one, and it'd be pretty small housing. Consider the Rat Cabin, or any of the cages listed under that. ''The Ruud Cage'' would be ideal, for more than one rat. Very spacy.

One rat should be in a cage no smaller than 36x36x36..they need space for excercise, one spot for the bathroom, and one spot for food.
Anything smaller would be like you living in a closet.
