a horse can run faster than a camel definitely but if you're talking about who can outlast the other, the camel of course especially in an environment like the desert.

In a sprint, a horse can outrun a camel. But long haul, the camel will over take a horse and leave its bones bleaching in the sun.

Only on fairly deep sand - their feet are designed to disperse their weight so they don't sink in, a horses hooves cut right through so it's like you or I trying to run through deep snow.
