Wow. Knock me over with a feather! I thought this was going to be racist and it was a really beautiful, genuine question.
Can we get more Christians like you on the forum? Is there some kind of bait we could buy? And would you mind answering my question here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoSDLMYJ4I6GFEvEsZmh_VHsy6IX?qid=20070518175502AAo7mGC I'm quite serious in my question and want to know what you think. Thank you for being a nice light here!

Well, if a person of your nationality decided that Heaven's Gate was the true way to salvation, would you follow him, or even let him preach in your church? The Jews viewed christianity as a fraud, and they had every right to do so, since they knew their scriptures and knew that the way they were being used by the followers of christ was fraudulent. Go through your bible and see for yourself the verses used to identify Jesus as the messiah of the Tanakh, and then find those verses in the OT, and read the chapters they're in. Jesus was a fraud, and the Jews knew it.
This is not hate that I'm giving to you, it's the truth that you really should be aware of. I didn't write the bible, I simply read and researched it. I think you should do the same.

Hi Lil miss - Paul did not decide who to go to. In Romans Paul said he could wish himself cursed so that the Jews could be saved. Paul risked his life constantly for the Jews, and never gave up on them. But Christ made Paul's ministry to the Gentiles and Peter's to the Jews.
There are a lot of hateful people and many of them justify their hatred with various reasons as though that excuses it. But Jesus told us that they hated him without cause and that the servant is not above his master,,, that his servants would also be hated. The natural man is enmity against Christ because Christ testifies against the world that its deeds are evil.
None of us are worthy of the Lord. We are all cut out of the same stuff. Christ loved each of us while we were yet enemies. Hang in there. It is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

Lil Mis,
I understand exactly how you feel. It is amazing to me that we continue to ignore the fact that the Jews were declared to be God's special people and that nothing has ever happened to change that. Folks who take the promises God made to Israel and apply them to the church instead seem to ignore Paul's own writing when he addresses God's plan for the people in Romans 9-11 (past, present, and most importantly, future).
We forget that we serve a Jewish savior! A man who followed Jewish levitical law and fulfilled it in every way. Which is precisely what made Him the perfect and acceptable sacrifice that in turn frees us from that very law. But remember, the Jews will only be blinded until the fulness of the Gentiles is come in.
Witnessing can be frustrating. But I don't really think we're called to convert people. The disciples, when they went forth, weren't told to argue with folks. THey were told to spread the good news of the Kingdom of God and if people didn't want to hear it, they were to move on and shake the dust from their feet. Peter calls us to be prepared to give an answer for our faith, but not to ram it down someone's throat!
Don't give up. How you live your life will be a louder witness than anything you say. Be filled with His peace and keep witnessing!
In Him,
LMA

you make a really good point and I agree with you...Man doesn't want to believe anymore and all the time i see my very own religion and people that claim to be christians picking and choosing what they want to believe...they claim times are change and so does how we view the bible...People in my own church say we should follow the bible word for word, but yet they still choose what they want to believe. Repent...for the end truely is near. I am glad to see Christians like you still in this world

answer: wow, question like this brings out the bigotry, does not it? final time I observed such irrational hatred become when I listened to somebody ranting from the KKK and the Aryan Brotherhood. comparable stupidity and laughable stereotyping. my answer: i know how they have survived over the centuries, their love for gaining awareness of and books and rather the actuality they do no longer sense all and sundry has to transform. No, Jews don't sense improved, they sense anybody can attain the divine - Jewish or no longer.

LOL. First off, Paul sounds like a Judgemental person for not liking Jews. Do you know what Jesus would have said to Paul, "Hey buddy, ,,l,, my mother was a Jew." Get over yourself. Oh, some people don't like me and my religion. Oh, the whole world is awful and bad. Give me a break would ya. I'm sure the people in Darfur would love to be in your place. Getting a little name calling.

There's a lot more to worry about than angry comments. If you're in the ministry. People are tortured, raped, and killed for their beliefs. "Christians" who call themselves "Christians" and respond in hate. Are not doing God's will now are they? If you are telling people about the bible make sure you tell them it all. We are saved by grace, faith. Faith alone is dead without works. Jesus tells us numerously to follow the commandments. Anyway, I'll pray for you.

I do feel that way sometimes. I'm in ministry too and not everyone is receptive. God shows us that in many different schriptures. Just keep it up and rejoice when one soal is brought to salvation threw your witness.
Remeber: "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet." Matthew 7:6
Sometimes peoples hearts are so hard, they never get it, and never will. Pray for those people but don't let them discourage you.

A lot of people are angry at the concept of Christians forcing their views upon everyone through the law. I think that causes a lot of hostility--if Christians stayed out of politics, most non-Christians would leave them alone.
