I think that the common age in America is 16, according to a statistic I read in YM magazine, but virginity is a very powerful thing, so don't lose it until your in the right circumstances and you feel most comfortable. Also be willing and mature enough to deal with the consequences of sex: stds, pregnancy, emotions. Hope this helps!! :]

Late teens (like 16 up) seems realistic...I know people say to wait for marriage, but it seems that sexual compatibility is an important part of any good marriage. Don't throw your virginity away on a random encounter and don't let anyone push you into it, just be in a relationship that feel is committed, even if it's not necessarily Mr. Forever.

Age should not be the deciding factor in virginity or not virginity. It's about being mature enough to have a committed (hopefully married) relationshipwith a person who's history is not something that can't be discussed. Even then, be suren thatn you are ready for whatever consequences (baby,std,heartbreak) come out of it!!!!!!!!

Common, or recommended? It's hard to say what's common. it was way too early for me, i won't say how old here, but I was still in high school. Barely out of middle school.
I'd hang on until I was at least 18 or so.

If you knew what I knew Honeychild... you would keep it. You wouldn't be rushing to have sex. With sex comes responsibility and a ton of issues and feelings. It can be an emotional strain on you. Take your time Honeychild...
