If I'm wrong about Yahweh? Then I suppose I go to Hell.
If you're asking about what's the worst thing for me if I'm wrong about all the other thousands of gods, I don't know. You'll have to throw out a few specific names...
But I'm guessing this question concerns only YOUR deity.

If I were wrong and god does in fact exist then I would alter my view of the world to incorporate this fact. (I would also start capitalizing its name.) That would be about the end of it. It certainly wouldn't mean that I would start going to church because church and religion are man-made regardless of whether or not god exists.
Atheism isn't necessarily a positive belief. Most atheists don't believe in god because they see no evidence and no reason to. If the evidence were to materialize to prove the contrary to the beliefs of an atheist it wouldn't completely capsize his/her life. Can you say the same for theists?

Honestly, I think an all powerful "god" would be ABOVE the HIMAN thinking/emotions/attitudes that people ALWAYS put on him/her/it. Would a "deity" not be above the whole self centered "kiss my @*** or I'll be mad and send you to hell" crap?
I mean really... it would have to be above all that if it were a "supreme being"...so it would only make sense that it wouldn't have a stupid human attitude problem and really wouldn't give a damn if you "believed" or not and be capable of appreciating that you lived your life as a GOOD person, and more so since you didn't constantly need it's guidance to live that way.

Truthfully it would depend on the deity. Even if a deity is empirically proved that does not say which god it will be. But for your question, I'll assume it is the christian deity. If the christian deity were proved real I would acknowledge it is a real entity but I would never bow to such a creature who can set commandments and not follow them (thou shall not kill - remember the Noah scenario and the firstborns of Egypt), is so insecure he has to mandate that people have no other gods before him or ask someone to sacrifice the life of their child to him and constantly supports warfare and violence as an end to its means.
So, actually, there would be no 'worst' aspect for me, life would go on as it does for me and given what I stated above I'd gladly go to hell than spend eternity with that.

I wouldn't feel bad, the worse thing would be that I have wasted a lot of time and got it wrong, I would have a great deal of questions, but I would be comforted if I got the answers to questions I have.

the worst thing that could happen would be losing one of my children. if i found out i was wrong about god i would b fine with it. but it would take proof that i dont think there is. i would also be a little angry at him for not doing anything to alleviate some of the suffering in the world

Yeah you do kind of have to define which god. Besides that I would just say, I followed what my mind, reason, and logic told me to. If you could, take my wife with you.
Of course that is assuming it existed. Since I don't believe I won't have to say it.

I make my decisions based on the best information available to me at the time I make my decision,As of this very moment the best information available to me says that God doesn't actually exist . If I'm wrong,I'm wrong.

The worse thing would be to loose all of my family at once.
I would feel surprised and amazed if god was proved.
I have no attachment to atheism, I just need evidence.
Atheists: Just answer the question. Why are you all side stepping?

Actually, if the judeo-christian god turns out to be real I'd be in hell with all my fellow atheists and the fundies would be gone. All in all, a pretty good deal.
