Revelation 21
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;...And he carried me away...and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem,...Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;...And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city wee garnished wit all manner of precious stones...And the twelve gates were twelve pearls;...and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass...And the city had no need of the sun,...for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."
The Bible says we will know each other in Heaven.
Yes, animals will be in Heaven also.
Don't know about floating around
Heaven will be the same for everyone there, we will have our own mansion (John 14:1-3) and our desires will be fulfilled.
Jesus said what our hearts desire, we will have in Heaven.
Our loved one who passed on before us are waiting for us to join them and what a rejoicing it will be when we get there and look in to the faces of loved ones who are of perfect form and not in any pain, sorrow or worry. Perfection!!!

I believe that everyone has a diffrent idea of what "heaven" is. For the religious, it is where the Lord reigns and where believers go after death. People who've had out of body experiences say that family of friends have greeted them and would tell them that their time has'nt come yet, so yes, I believe that you'll recognize family, friends, and acquaintences. Married? No, I don't think so. It won't be necessary in Heaven (sex is an earthly pleasure and for pro-creation. Not needed there.). I believe that Man and animals will live side by side. There will be no need to flee or fight. Floating? It may feel like it, but only the Angels can actually fly.
That's what I believe about the afterlife. In this life I believe heaven is what you make of your time here on earth. For me heaven on earth will be an overwhelming feeling of peace and fullfilment. Total satisfaction. Almost spiritual. It will be interesting to see others ideas of heaven, won't it.

It is these whose reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide; and excellent is the reward of good workers.
God has promised to believers, men and women, Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide, and delightful dwelling-places in Gardens of Eternity. And the pleasure of Allah is the greatest of all. That is the supreme triumph.
A description of the Garden promised to the righteous: Therein are streams of water which corrupts not; and streams of milk of which the taste changes not; and streams of wine, a delight to those who drink; and streams of clarified honey. And in it they will have all kinds of fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord. Can those who enjoy such bliss be like those who abide in the Fire

My idea of heaven is sitting at God's feet and listening to Him tell stories about all sorts of things. Stories of how He created various things, stories of different things in history... that would be heaven for me.

We use human terms to describe God and heaven, but there is a problem with this. We are imperfect beings, and we cannot possibly fathom the perfectness and the awesomeness that is heaven. I'm not going to claim that I know there are things there or not there. I have my theories. I think that animals are a part of God's covenant.
I was given a scripture one time that showed me how God came for all of creation. "For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself ALL things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross." Colossians 1:19-20 (NRSV)
I think that God sent Christ for all of us. It says for all of creation, and I think animals are included in that.
As far as what I think heaven is like, I think it is perfect worship of God. Revelation 4 talks about what perfect worship is. It's talking about heveanly worship, and I think that is very much what heaven will be. "And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and inside. Day and night without ceasing they sing, 'Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God the Almighty, who was and is and is to come.' And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to the one who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall before the one who is seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, 'You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.'" Revelation 4:8-11 (NRSV)
I hope this helps.
