Ok, let’s just say that sexual orientation is a choice and the Christians are correct. By that account, the reason I am straight is because I choose to be. It has nothing to do with the fact that I find women sexually attractive. I am straight because I choose to be. That about sums up your beliefs correctly doesn't it Christians?????

>>Christians say homosexuality is a choice?<<

Only some. I do not.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

Many Christians feel homosexuality is a choice, some even think you need to be, or can be cured. The ones that think you were born gay, think you should then completely repress your sexuality and not engage in homosexual behavior.
So what you said sums it up. They don't really care why you are gay and will never accept homosexual behavior.
What A Crock!

I am a Christian. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I believe that some people are born with the internal tendency and leaning towards homosexuality. I believe this is an imperfection.

I believe that what one IS, how one is BORN is not a choice.

BUT what one DOES is a choice. And a person should CHOOSE to live their life in a way that is approved by God.

Acting on homosexual desires is a sin.

Sure. God makes everybody to crave a woman, but man through perversion chooses to become homosexual, which is evil.

It's called sin. You cannot be with God while you practice sinful practices. But with salvation you can renounce your evil ways and live a pure and decent life. Choice again! Isn't God's grace wonderful??

Are you saying you are straight or gay?

You wouldn't choose to be among the scorned and hated and possibly beaten to a pulp and killed like many LGBTs? No fun. You see, according to them I thought this all up and choose to be among those they label as "abnormal", "intrinsically disordered", "sick", etc., no matter that the DSM-IV has removed it as a mental illness, some will just make things up as they go...

I feel people are born gay or straight about as much as they are born alcoholic or drug addicts.

Medicine has found that there are genetic links to a propensity to alcohol & drug addiction. But alcoholics and addicts do not believe that they are required to live in that unhappy state "because God made me that way."

I feel it is the same with gay and straight. Between genetics and childhood experiences (including everybody's reaction to all-too-common molestation), people drift toward one pole or another. But that does not mean God made them that way.
