Jerusalem is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible. There are 657 references in the Tanakh and 154 references in the New Testament. YET JERUSALEM IS NOT EVEN MENTIONED ONE TIME IN THE KORAN!!!
The only time the Muslims have been interested in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is when Jews are in control of them.

Mohammad wasn't born for another 500+ years (after Jesus was at the temple).
Islam wasn't even thought of.

I don't know where you get your information, but you are missing a great deal of things about Islam. First off, Islam has more than just one holy book. The Christians technically have two books. We have the New Testament writings and the Jewish Torah. The Muslims have four. They have the Qu'ran, the Hadith, the Torah, and the Gospels. Did you know they believe Jesus was a prophet just as Christians do? You may not agree with their religion, but you need to understand a few things. Many of the stories in the Jewish and Christian faith are also very much a part of the Muslim faith. Islam even started with the story of Abraham and Sarah. His son Ishmael is the founder of Islam. Jerusalem is very much a holy place for all three religions. The Jews because the Temple Mount is the spot of the old temple. The Christians see it as the place where the Savior of the world died. The Muslims see it as the place where their prophet Mohammed ascended into heaven. You are incorrect about your belief that the only reason why Muslims want access to the Temple Mount is because of the Jews. That isn't true at all. You may not agree about the religion, but think of it in this manner. As a Christian, I believe Christ died in Jerusalem. Some people don't agree with that. But, they cannot deny that I believe in that; therefore, for me, as a Christian, the place is a holy place. For Muslims, even though you disagree with what they think, it is a holy place for them. Besides, do not be angry or hateful towards Muslims. If you consider them an enemy of the faith, then isn't the correct thing to do according to Christ to love them and pray for them anyway? Isn't it to treat them with kindness and love regardless? Read Romans 12. I hope this helps and gives you something to think about. Even if I do not get a best answer because you may not like what I have to say, I hope it gives you something to think about. It's the truth. We are called the love our enemies.

Muslims believe that their great Prophet Muhammad went up to heaven on a giant ladder to receive the Koran. The location of where Muhammad is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. At one point the Muslims would face the Temple Mount to pray until some point in time they bow down in the direction of Mecca. Muslims have a claim that they were there first. There wasn't a Jewish Temple there because the Romans destroy the Temple in 67 A.D. The Jewish people were exiled until 20th Century. So the Muslims claimed the temple mount.

u seem very mislead. what u state about "The only time the Muslims have been interested in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is when Jews are in control of them." is simply not true
Our love for jerusalem dates back centuries ago.

Jerusalem is the 3rd holiest site for Muslims. actually it is mentioned in the Quran. Just because it doesn't say "jerusalem" doesn't mean its not in there, it refers rather to the mosque that is located there.

1st, the majority of our prophets have visited Jerusalem or lived there at one point.

2nd: an event called "isra wal miraj," in which the Prophet muhammad ascended to heaven and returned, took place in this beloved city. this is significant because prayer was ordained to muslims. for a while muslims prayed towards jerusalem until it was revealed to face the Kaaba in Makka.

3rd: one prayer in the Al- Aqsa mosque (in jerusalem) is equal to 500 prayers.

p.s: before th Jews had control over Jerusalem, christians, jews, and muslims lived peacefully amongst themselves. the only violence the region saw was during the Crusades.

Have you ever heard of the story of Abraham and Sara? God promised them a son, Isaac. But they got impatient and decided to go ahead and have a son by Sara's maidservant. This son's name was Ishmael. Hence, the battle for the land of Israel between the Jews ( Isaac) , which represents the Spirit, and the Palestinians ( Ishmael ), which represents the flesh. God told Abraham that there would be enmity between the two sons and there has been ever since. Scripture tells us that the spirit and the flesh war against one another. (Gal. 5:17) Galations 5 talks more about this relationship between the two sons.
