Now don't get me wrong. I love my pale skin; I have a good complexion and I want always to be true to myself. However, I'm 5' 11'' and very boney, but not underweight according to my doctor. I have a hard time keeping weight on. I have a shape, but I'm embarrassed to show my skinny arms and my prominent clavicle and when I wear a lower cut top you can see ribs. I feel that this makes me look as unhealthy as the models I see on the runway. It would be much easier to survive as a pale girl in a tan world if I had a better filled out figure. Can anyone suggest any good diet and exercise tips to help me fill out my figure? I'm more focused on being healthy, which is why I don't go tanning. On a more cosmetic note, what colors do you suggest I wear to enhance my skintone and keep it creamy-looking rather than washed out? If it helps, I have medium to dark blond hair, more goldy than ashy. I freckle lightly. My eyes are very bright blue but are prone to dark circles. I think I'm a Spring.

I hope no one got the impression that I don't, but I really like my pale skin. What I'm most concerned about is not looking sickly or wispy. And perhaps getting in shape? :)

1] do pushups, and weight lifting, if you can. It will add muscle to the 'bony' parts and tone the parts that aren't.
2] do crunches, curlups, and obliques every day for your middle and to keep your back strong
3] don't neglect your aerobics - you can be skinny and be in bad shape!
COLORS:
Warm - ivory, tomato red, peach, orange, gold, celery, sage or olive green, turquoise or teal blue, bright purple, caramel,
chocolate
Cool - white, pink, maroon, lemon, mint or hunter green, all blues except turquoise, lavender, eggplant, silver, gray, black
Wear tops that flatter - jewel neck, not-too-deep v, modest u
[ above clavicle ], modest square; in winter you add turtlenecks and mocknecks. Make sure tops fit properly - not too big or small.
Make sure sleeves are either non-existent, half, three quarter
lenght, or full length. [camisoles will expose clavicles and ribs;
short or cap sleeves stop in middle of skinny arms ]

I feel i'm in the same boat as you - i also have fair skin and get told that I need to eat more and put on weight. As for building up body mass, protein increases muscle fibers in both size and quantity, so maybe you need to include more protein in your diet. Lifting leight weights may also help. And the skin? Well for your face I'd suggest a liquid foundation from mode cosmetics (these are fairly cheap), or a bronzer - which can also be used on arms and legs. However if you dont want to wear makeup, I'd suggest Johnson's Holiday skin body lotion (this is a moisturiser which gradually builds a light tan without looking fake). Dove also has a similar product. You said that you dont sunbake, which is good, but make sure you still get enough time in the sun because vitamin D is very important. As for the dark circles, I'm still trying to find a solution to that one myself. Hope this helps a bit. But remember if you love who you are, everyone else will love you too.

Well, by how much you mention you're pale, I'm guessing you want to be tanner, so maybe tan for a little bit and get a healthy glow. You don't mention much besides that that I would want to change. Brown eyes look good with bluish, or lilac shadow (please don't overdo that though). If you stay pale, dark colors would look best. Bright colors wash out pale people but look awesome on tan people. I'm not the biggest fan of full bangs... I like side bangs better, but hey, full ones may look best on you. I really don't know what else to say... EDIT: I can't tan in the sun, I burn, peel, and stay pale, lol. But by tanning 4 minutes, then 8 minutes in a few days, and then 10 minutes a few days later, etc. in a tanning bed, I can actually get tan and have a nice glow. If that doesn't work for you, then pale can be very pretty too. I know, I have to work with it, lol.

Well if your very pale sometimes it can be from lack of a vitamin supplement. You could be anemic and if you are then you need to take iron and then you won't be pale no more. Also, if you want a tan stay away from the sun. Instead use a moisturizer that contatins a self enhancing tanner that gradually increases the color based on how tan you want to be.

Well I think you would do well with Yoga, it will give you a bit of a shape without too much work...I think light colors would look nice with what you have described and sometimes add a little black too...I also agree that you would be considered spring...keep doing what your doing and stay healthy and dont worry about what others say about you ....as long as you know you are being healthy and true to yourself that is all that matters...most other girls are very fake trying to acheive something they will never be...Be you and work it girl!!

Why don't you try some peach blushand little darker but natural looking lipstick.Plum eyeshadow with brown mascara on top, blue on the bottom. Be careful with eyeliner

I think you should be happy you're really pale and skinny. If you don't wanna look pale, use a bronzer. I think both dark skin and pale skin are really beautiful ,so be confident with yourself!!

Eat protein to make a more muscular body.

For the tanning part of the question you could always get a spray on tan. You look great and you won't get skin cancer that way.
