Hello !!!
...but really I think Yahoo should change the name to "religion and belief" although I believe atheism is completely related to religion and spirituality...but changing the name may stop christians constant complaints...
maybe we should learn christains a little about LOVE ,it seems they are not familiar with it at all !

likewise. I can't speak for some of the Christians who post on Yahoo Answers - but I respect (although disagree with) Atheism. I am sick of some Atheists saying more or less that Christians are stupid and gullible. I respect Atheists - they have their reasons for what they believe, same as Christians have their own reasons - whose to say whose reasons are superior? All Christians should respect where Atheists stand. And all Atheists should respect what Christians believe.

It is similar to why atheists do not want to leave christians alone here.
When there are two opposing groups who are vocal, neither one will leave the other alone.
------------
To Spades Of Columbia, perhaps you should research on OTHER religions as well. Some other religions do not believe in Higher Power or Gods. In fact some religions are true atheist.
---------
For Steve N, can you wholehearted tell the world and swear to your god you do not have any agenda to push when you are in the forums?
For every debate and discussion, there is an agenda to push.
Just like now. I am pushing the idea it is not just christians that do not leave atheist alone, atheist does the same too. Neither one should accuse the other of being guilty.
You are pushing the similar idea, but you mask it in the sense only atheists pushes their agenda, christians don't, which I do not agree, AT ALL. In fact, Christians, in personal view, have more agenda to push so they earn browine points.

I'm a christian and I know love. I'm sorry if you have had bad experiences with some but as in everything else you can't blame the whole bunch for the actions of some. However if you don't want to see religious questions and answers than choose a different category. The choice is yours to make either way. Have a good day.

Let them go for it....a pagan or an atheist can upstage them every time, as we tend to use our brains instead of scripture that comes from the little black book of hate!
I also find it amusing when they start their questions, "i am a christian and i have been forgiven and god is on my side..((I'm a good little sheep!!) (((With their hands waving in the air!!))
then they proceed in one answer to show their true colours and spew hate and ignorance all over the place!!
I just love it!!
It shows me on a daily basis that i am definitely on the right path and the best thing i ever did was to throw all my bibles in the bin!!
You cant teach them how to be a better person, because they follow that little book like their lives depend on it and have a look at the standards set in there!!

Anyways Have a great day!!

I have seen attacks from non-theists also. There are a few extreme people ( believers) that the full truth is not yet in them. I am sure the same goes for the non-theists. There are those in this forum to learn, or to search for a truth, to debate their beliefs. BUT Some are also just here to ridicule and persecute others for their belief. Funny how one rotten apple can ruin a hole barrel.

hmm well why don't atheists leave christains alone? i have never critized people for their alternative beliefs or athiesm but if i even mention religion as my reason for doing something i find myself critized and mocked. once in class last year i quietly mentioned that i didn't believe in gay marriage and was overheard and found myself being verbally attacked by a group of about 8 teenagers calling me stupid and ignorant. So don't think that athiests are tolerant.
however i live in western canada so maybe its a bit different here.

Well if you want to discuss religion at least show respect to the topic. In the same way if I talk to a Buddhist I don't insult the Buddha, say he is a myth, that Theravada Buddhism is a delusion, or anything like that. I respect them and do not insult things important to them.

The Christian religion teaches sooooo much about sharing the faith and trying to get people to come to Jesus. What isn't taught is the RIGHT way to approach people. I understand that sometimes Christians come on really strong and when you didn't ask for itl, but most have good intentions. If they're seriously pestering you, report abuse just like anyone else!

Things can get kinda rough in here sometimes. Friction between theists and atheists is always happening. I think what we need to do is refrain from the insults, and believe me....R&S will be a much more pleasant place for questions and answers. but hey.........even if others constantly bash the answers to your questions, think on the bright side - you still get two points per answer!!!!!

I have often wondered why don't Atheists leave Christians alone?? I don't attack the atheists, so why do they go after me?
As for changing the name, it is still a religious Q&A website, and atheists are not supposed to have a religion. So why are you on here at all? People are asking questions and seeking help and you are kicking them in the balls with your religious intolerance.
