I just seen a reply to a question from Debra M , calling her a fake and phoney , saying she has a diseased mind etc
because she is loving and positive
I have seen similar repsonses to my own posts and to others who try to lighten things up in here
does it seem unlikely that there are genuinely nice people in this world ?
why do these sort of questions make people doubt a persons motive ?
do people in general see only negative in this world ?

Some People like to spew hatred. That is all they know.

Sadly a lot of people do see things in a negative light but some still see the good instead so don't give up hope just yet. As to your question about whether there are genuinely good people the answer of course is yes. There is good and bad in everyone.

Hi Pangel. It's nice to find someone who looks to the positives and not the negatives all the time. I have been told alot that some of my responses are overly positive and not in touch with reality. Well, this is my reality, and it can be anyone's if they truly desired it. There is nothing wrong with trying to find the good in all people, and the joy in every situation. If that makes us abnormal, then this is a sad world. I'm here with ya, though. :)

I like to believe in the general goodness of people. That being said, there are certain forums in life where that light within just doesn't seem to shine through brightly enough. More and more, it seems that people are becoming tense, agitated and generally fed up with their life and the lives of others. I feel what you feel often. But, then again, I feel deeply. I hope that your frustration is alleviated at least (if only) slightly by this reply.

Self Control, dear Pangel.

We see what we want to see, we're all illusionists. But manning yourself is a skill that requires cultivating maturity.

We can be deliberate in our actions, some like to let themselves just fly. (like fly off the handle).
Let yourself hang out there on a limb on a continual bases and your compromised. Gotta reign in and re-evaluate. See if there is another way of seeing things.

There are lots of tools to being "genuine good people". It starts with the desire.

There are genuinely nice people
There are also no genuinely nice people.
There are some who will doubt a persons motives
And others who will trust another person's motives.
Some people see only the negatives
Some see only the positives.

Some people are more street wise and some
people are more worldly wise.

Some people are devious, manipulative and deceitful,
Some people are caring, honest and trustworthy.

Such is life.

There are good people, but very few on this section of Y!A.
I seen that reply also and it was totally unnecessary. I've actually come to like Debra M, she seems really sweet and caring. She didn't deserve that rude comment one bit. Whoever left that for her clearly has several issues of their own.

People react in this way because way down deep, they are disheartened; they had grave disappointment in their early lives...for whatever reason, they cannot grasp that someone else can live life in joy.

To allow these people to bother you, you are in effect giving up your power to them. Always be who you are; allow their words to roll off your back. They cannot harm you.

We are people only in the sense that God's Beloved child became afraid, had a mad thought, and dreams of being separate from the Creator.

We remain as created. We are still and eternally whole. The Christ says, "I am with you always."

I know there are good people, because I can see you (or at least your actions), and those of many great people, here on R & S.

People are coming from different backgrounds & experiences.

One has to be patient with them.

They'll change.

You probably don't realise it, but your actions are having effects, probably more widely than you can imagine.

I appreciate you, and all the good people.

Squirrel looks like a bit of an ar** hole. :-)

Forgive the superlative, but it's probably true, (and he's 'new'). :-)

Generally? Maybe a lot do... I mean not all have the same outlook we do. It's always wiser to refrain from unkind speech, but then some people are only doing what they know or have done all their lives and maybe generally don't know any better. I dunno. I'm reaching I know, but it's all that "causes and conditions" thing that gets me to thinking that way... I wouldn't beat a dog for barking a lot, that's what dogs do... so I just educate where I can and let the rest go.

There are genuinely nice people in the world. I wonder what you're posting that's bugging people. But, seriously, you don't need religion to be a good person. In fact, I think it's more noble to do something good just because you want to be nice to another human being, not because you're trying to get brownie points to get into heaven.
