Best thing for kids is fresh air and sunshine. If the weather's nice, make sandwiches or hot dogs and take pickles, chips, and juice, and go to a park, or even just spread out a blanket in the back yard. If it's hot (it is here) get out a wading pool or turn on the sprinkler and jump through it. Make sure everyone stays hydrated (lots of liquids) and wears sunscreen.

Ask if the 3 year old still naps, because if she does you won't want to miss it. Tired preschoolers are prone to fussiness and misbehaving.

In the afternoon, watch a video or play board games. Or get out some crayons and draw.

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but I have the same age difference with my boys and they love water guns. If they can go outside and get some energy out then they should love that. We also go for walks and look for cans so they cash them in for extra spending money. We live on a dirt road so that also depends on the neighborhood you live in. Frog eggs are also out and kids like to catch them with butterfly nets and put them in a bucket of pond water. Have fun!

If you can go to a park and let them run. Hide and seek is also a fun game at any age. For lunch, you can always go with the old standby, PBJ. It's easy and quick.
