At international level, United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the biggest organization working and monitoring work of its member countries, arranging fund and directing the activites in this sector.
Based on UNFCCC guidelines, each member country has established its on Designated National Authorities (DNA) which is responsible for arranging funds and carrying out different projects in this sector, Many of the member states has also established their own Clean Development Mechanism Cells (CDM) to reduce greenhouse gases. Beside this Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, www.ipcc.ch), established under UNFCCC is also working on scientific, social and policy research to study scientific basis, impact assessment, mitigation and adaptation of global warming.
Beside this a number of non-governmental organization working in environment sector like IUCN, WWF, UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP and a number of projects funded by GEF. You can check these projects and their status from www.gefweb.org
