Good Question!

Like the brain dead zombies who post 15 paragraphs of bible verse and pretend like it's legitimate. Do they seriously think someone is going to plow through that garbage and get to the end and say "EUREKA, I HAVE NOW FOUND THE LIGHT!!"

"reasonable Christians" - I am not sure what you mean by reasonable Christians. General we someone says that they mean the Christians without a back bone and without any knowledge of the Bible

"why do they allow the notjobs to post their bile here unchallenged" Again without a backbone and without any knowledge of the Bible. It is hard to challenge someone when you do not were to begin.

Normally Christians that believe the Bible and use it for all doctrine are called "Fundamentalist Christians" when they should be called "Christians" and the "Liberal Christian's" the ones you would call reasonable should just be called "Liberal".

2 Timothy 3:16-17
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

I consider myself a Christian. Spiritually aware. With peace in my heart. Nut job sometimes. With bile, when reading your questions. Unchallenged, rarely. With compassion, always.

Bless you.

Dear one -

As a Christian, please allow me to offer appologies on behalf of my more zealous fellow brothers and sisters who may have posted in anger - or "bile" as you say - without forethought.

I am sure it was not the intent of any of them to inspire the vitriol you display in your question.

Please understand - we will always seek to honor the Word that instructs us. Part of that is: Romans 14:16 "Do not let what you regard as good get a bad name." So we will attempt to defend deliberate attacks on our faith.

We Christians should not be arguing, but instead should seek peace.

**Proverbs 15:7 Knowledge is spread by people who are
wise, not by fools.

**Proverbs 15:18 Hot tempers cause arguments, but
patience brings peace.

**Proverbs 17:14 The start of an argument is like the first
break in a dam; stop it before it goes any further.

But as for getting involved in someone else's argument?

**Proverbs 26:17 It's better to take hold of a mad dog by
the ears than to take part in someone else's argument.

I wish there was some way do cause people who simply seek anger and live for hatred to be stopped from posting thier aspersions... but, unfortunately - we do not have mass control over all of the computers in the world.

Again - I am sorry you were offended.
I pray you find forgiveness in your heart and peace for the rest of your day..

Reasonable
agreeable to reason or sound judgment; logical

As far as I understand, logic is not one concept. It doesn't mean "making sense." It means "the study of how people make sense of things" or something like that. It's the study of it, rather than the sense itself.

This ties in with the following scriptures:
1 Corinthians 9:3
This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me.

Christians should be able to defend their own beliefs. This is supposed to be backed up by doing good. 2 Peter 2:15 - "For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of the foolish."

The word "eupeithes" in James 3:17 means "easily obeying, compliant" and is variously translated "yielding" or "reasonable" or something like "easy to argue with." Therefore, seeing as this is Yahoo! Answers, I assume that it would be "reasonable" to answer questions!

I think your the type of person that likes to complain . I read the comments you made concerning Debra M.
You should find some kindness. Turn your cheek or say something nice. If not, keeping trucking because life is too short to complain about!

It is an open forum and all are free to post their questions. You may not agree with the beliefs behind them, but the fact that they are posted and you have the opportunity to answer them, will make you stronger in your beliefs and your faith. Don't be afraid of the challenge; don't back down from the confrontation.

We reasonable Christians have found that the best way to deal with nut jobs is to ignore them. So should you. If they don't have an audience they'll look like the idiots that they are. :)
