I learned this in the Brownies and can't remember it. You had to push the person's back and then raise their elbows, thus pushing out the water from the lungs.

LOBSTER. The Heimlich manoeuvre is for choking and is now called abdominal thrust.

A some one who just finished an EMT-B class and a duel certified Lifeguard, I can tell you that in that situation the victim would be rolled over, assesed, and probably have CPR preformed on them if they needed it.

Are you referring to CPR (cardio-pulmonary resusitation)?
